Getting Started in Solar

Hey STMers

I've been managing AdWords and Facebook campaigns for a couple of years, so I'm very familiar with media buying - I'm brand new to AM.

I decided I want to start out white hat and have looked into Solar as a good niche to run my first test campaign.

That said, I'm looking for the best places to start

- what are the networks to join that have solar offers?
- what are the traffic sources to look into for solar?
- and where can I find some threads about solar? I've been searching the forum but haven't found anything too specific. Still getting used to the forum layout (I wanted the intro video though)

Thanks!

Cant answer your questions, but i can say solar may not be the best thing for a new AM. Mostly because of the high payouts, testing is going to cost you alot of money.

I disagree with that sentiment. Prices depend on what country / region you're targeting. Also it is nice as it is very easy to get approved so newbies don't have to worry about cloaking or accounts being banned. So for certain newbies it may actually be a decent vertical.

1. A good network for solar offers is Ads4Dough , they specialize in leadgen verticals
2. Look around online.... solar is on every single traffic source out there.
3. Backwards engineer as many solar campaigns as you can, and that'll be a good place to start learning.

Solar is a very good vertical to get started with and the eCPC rates our affiliates are getting on them are insane. Sometimes the highest in smaller markets like Belgium or Italy. Traditionally solars work really well in the US and UK as well. Definitely worth testing it out on native traffic (with an article/prelander) or PPV traffic.
