Quickest (whitehat) way to test demand for an eBook idea? (on Facebook)

Hey all -

Never ran any traffic on Facebook, but figure it would be one of the best spots for me to test demand for an ebook idea that I have (for which I have expertise).

I have not built any creative around it, nor wrote more than an outline - but I know the target market, and I believe I can target them on Facebook fairly easily.

For anyone that has tested demand via Facebook (without getting banned) - what is the best way to test if the book would (likely) sell for ~$27 or something along those lines before writing anything? Would you collect emails? Would you write an extremely long copy sales page before writing the book?

Open to any ideas

Yea, develop a sales page with an email opt-in for a notice when the book or course goes live. Ive done this before. Maybe mention a special price of some sort, and see if people are interested...

I can't recall the link but I remember reading a few months ago a member doing this exact thing, they put a buy it now button on the LP after the copy and tested how many people clicked it, the person clicking it signifies intent to buy so you can stick them on a list and keep them warm until the product is ready.
