Hi all,
Going to take a crack at my first follow along here and provide as much info as possible.
Offer: LiveLinks
Network: RingPartner
GEO: All US
Channel: Adwords
Landing Page: Unbounce
Keywords: 16,250 Keywords (using iAmAttila's Case Study)
Ad Groups: 56
Ads: roughly 7-10
Day 1:
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: $0.20
Mobile Bid Adjustment: +300%
CTR: 0%
Spend: $0
Earnings: $0
Findings: No findings here yet as this was the first day.
Day 2:
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: $0.30
Mobile Bid Adjustment: +300%
CTR: 12.14%
Spend: $51.14 CAD
Earnings: $9.30 USD
Findings: Increased Max CPC to see if that was the reason for the lack of impression share. Realized that I forgot to add non-location based broad keywords and wasn't getting any impressions. Started to see some love. I also noticed a lot of repeat callers on this day, I read that I should look for an offer that works well with LiveLinks and IVR the user there. So that's an important take away for me.
Day 3:
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: $0.30
Mobile Bid Adjustment: +300%
CTR: 8.78%
Spend: $51.18 CAD
Earnings: $12.52 USD
Findings: Still noticed a lot of repeat callers. Will have to look at a different offer soon in order to send over those callers.
Next Steps: Lower Max CPC to $0.20. Do some more competitive research
Biggest pain points right now:
Day 4
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: $0.20
CTR: 8.12%
Spend: $54.16 CAD
Earnings: $20.59 CAD
P/L: -33.57
Findings: I'm going to optimize the campaign a bit further by looking at keywords that aren't converting for me. I'm also going to start using more of the phone numbers that RingPartner makes available so that I can group ad groups with phone numbers a bit better.
I can definitely see this campaign improving once I optimize they keywords I'm targeting and the ads I'm using.
Nice follow along. You probably have a lot of repeat call traffic? That's a problem with this campaign...
Day 5
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: $0.20
CTR: 9.8%
Spend: $53.73 CAD
Earnings: $15.52 CAD
P/L: -$38.21
Day 6
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: $0.20
CTR: 7.74%
Spend: $53.74 CAD
Earnings: $16.12 CAD
P/L: -$37.62
I reformatted all of the ad groups so that they're targeting interest and then intent. CTR went down I'm assuming because I'm spending on some keywords that just aren't performing, which I'm going to end up killing anyway.
Overall, I'm getting killed by Repeat and Not Paid callers so far. Still working on my targets to see if I can mitigate that. Put up another 10 ads today and will be cleaning some of the keywords up either tomorrow or the day after.
Yeah, that's definitely the biggest problem I'm finding so far. There is a lot of volume though. Main reason I chose this was to test PPCall and see how I felt about it. Overall it seems good, just need to start getting in the green
Day 7
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: Varied
CTR: 11.02%
Spend: $40.17 CAD
Earnings: $13.81 CAD
P/L: -$26.36
Day 8
Daily Budget: $50
Max CPC: Varied
CTR: 12.45%
Spend: $55.78 CAD
Earnings: $24.12 CAD
P/L: -$31.04
Still a ways away from breaking even, but getting a bit closer. Also still getting hammered by repeat callers. While I don't want to give up, I might have to shift my focus away from this campaign and onto another one. Likely better to look at a campaign that has a better repeat window and less likely to get repeat callers.
Is that a good idea?
Any update on this one? It looked like a very promising start, would be interested to know how things have progressed.
Sorry about the delay in updates. I'll provide an update shortly.
I wanted to provide a quick update here in terms of next steps for me.
I ran Livelinks for just over 20 days using Adwords, Unbounce and RingPartner.
Here is the quick summary:
Duration: 24 Days
Ad Spend: $901.64 CAD
Revenue: $322.54 CAD
P/L: -$579.10
While losing money is never fun, I think it was a great experience to understand how PPCall works. Ultimately, I am going to get away from Livelinks and move into more of what the guys over at Call Academy are preaching.
I'll try and create a new follow along once I'm all setup with the next niche.
Thanks for the update! Difficult to get good profits with Livelinks! What is your next campaign?
Livelinks is over saturated is the problem, since MANY people have been running it for ages.. but excellent case study here! Glad you took the time to share this with us.
