Validating paid courses and mentorship programs

I have been contacted by a few affiliate marketers who offered me a chance to join their online course and mentorship programs.

I definitely understand the value of what they are offering but I am having a hard time figuring out if they are legit or not.

How do I figure out if they actually know what they are doing and can anyone recommend reputable courses/mentorship programs?

If you know your stuff, and I mean really know (spent millions on ads, so you had chance to test the waters really well) chances are you won't get any value from any course. Or rarely ever..

If you are a new, you can get value from a $60 course even.

So it all depends on what you know.

Remember this, people that coach en masse, often do so because they stopped making money due to policy updates, or some other thing and take the easy way out - selling the dream and some technical know how. None of them is going to hand you a step by step guide with everything to make money. They will always just cover principles using old campaigns they ran that you can't run anymore anyway.

In fact, in 2016 there has been a rise of guru as it has became increasingly difficult to get facebook accounts, or adwords accounts - two traffic sources many people made millions on but can't anymore due to the accounts problem.

This is what I thought. I was wondering why someone would teach a course for $1,000 and provide a month of mentorship when they are affiliates claiming to make $xx,xxx/day. It just sounds sketchy to me.
