What makes an amazing affiliate manager?
I'd like to know your thoughts about what makes a great affiliate manager. There's so many out there, but how do you know which one to truly work with. Knowing that there tons of affiliate networks that are out there and that I signed up with, here are some of the observations I've made that makes a good affiliate manager imo:
1) Being responsive, I get that they may not be able to help you 100% of the time. But, a nice response rate would be good.
2) Follow up with you from time to time.
3) Provide you stats on a offer performance without you even asking
4) Provides you good creatives to start out with.

All those 4 points are very important, and i'd add :
- understands and keeps track of what you're working on/your favourite kinda campaigns and doesn't annoy you with stuff you never run
- believes in you even when your volume is very low and inconsistent at the beginning, still values your potential
- knowledgeable / knows how to spy / can tell where the offer he's proposing is being ran succesfully
If only we could dissect @arjun, we'd know all the ingredients that make a great affiliate manager!

This. The reason is because most affiliate managers don't even know what affiliates do. They just see them as guys who bring in money.
The good ones will spend their time actually getting to know how affiliates do their thing. Also I've found that the the AMs who are more familiar with BH methods (ie: cloaking, running aggressive, etc) are Way better overall

I'd like to add one more point too :
- they notify me when an offers is paused or will be paused soon. Not just a generic email sent to all, but a skype message to let me know about offers going down in advance.

In my opinion an affiliate manager should have experience in being an affiliate already, I see affiliate managers these days that have next to no experience in being affiliates themselves and cant help when you have questions. They just send you the converting offers and ask when you will be sending traffic.

Credit where it's due? We didn't work together but Mehdi seems to know a thing or two, so there must be a reason for his nice words :O)
