So I ran a RON campaign on ExoClick for a while with a bid of $0.263. I then filtered out the stuff that didn't convert.
Now I have a profitable campaign running for quite a while, only problem is: I'm stuck at about 100$ spend per day. How do I scale this bitch?
I guess the obvious thing to do is to increase my bids.
But is there a stradegy to increasing my bids?
I've read that with higher bids, quality usually goes up -> is that true?
Are there other ways to get my volume up (besides adding more sites to the campaign and increasing bid)?
Hello,
you have a number of options here.
1. Did you improve the funnel along the way? In case you did, you might want to try to unblock some of the placements you filtered out. Better banners/LPs can also work better on the originally loosing placements.
2. Increase bid - this is one of the options for sure, and it's true that higher bid CAN bring better traffic, but this isn't a rule, sometimes it works the other way around. In case you will start raising bids, make it in small steps and always wait some time so the new bid can actually show it's potential. Also make sure you are using the Smart CPM option.
3. Change the CAP - what kinda cap do you have now? Increasing the cap will definitely get you more volume, but the CTR can go down too, so keep an eye on it.
4. Clone the campaign, keep everything the same - this is like increasing CAP but sometimes works better.
5. If you can't get more volume on exo, scale it to other sources
Hey esel3000!
How are you?
Since you were able to create a profitable campaign with that bid, the next obvious step is to raise your bid. You can do it in two different ways:
a) raise the bid to the eCPM of the campaign ((revenue/impressions)/1000) and work with the targeting you currently have;
b) put a high bid (which depends on the segment you’re working on) and optimize from the top.
Putting a high bid right away may be the best option. Why? Because - with these higher bids - you’ll get better traffic than the one you were receiving with the bid of 0.263$. This means you’ll gather a decent amount of data, being able to later check if you've got the right targeting and optimize.
My advice: if you want to increase your traffic even more, work with the current targeting you have and optimize it after a few days with a high bid. In addition, test the blacklisted parameters from your campaign. That device or that website that was performing badly with a low bid might work with a higher one, so test it carefully and thoroughly.
Besides these options of testing blacklisted parameters and raising bids, you can also try to increase capping. Don’t forget: you should increase it only if you’re in the first position of the segment and have the right targeting options!
Hope this helped!
Cheers!
