Celeb/magazine landers. What are the chances of you getting into legal trouble? I see people posting here all the time saying don't do it, but obviously they're just trying to scare the competition. Everyone is running those type of landers, you see them everywhere. Chances have to be slim at best... right?

It depends on how much volume you are running IMO. If you are making like $1k-$2k/day, it is slim to none. If you are making like $10k-$50k/day, it is a very real possibility.

Same thing for tech support or any other shady niche which runs the risk of you getting you getting sued.

I think you will find the reason why people say don't use celebs in your landers is not to scare the competition, but to warn you that the is a risk, and to point you down a more compliant (and still profitable) direction. Yes the odds are low, but they are there.

There have been some mega lawsuits due to celeb landers Oprah, Dr Oz etc.

Most people usually start the same.

They see some uncompliant lander that they want to do a small test with. They aren't worried since aren't doing very minimal volume. Then they get excited because their campaign starts performing. They scale, more and more and more. Now they get start getting nervous due to the big exposure their campaign is getting...but greed continues to push them.

What will make you stop?
