hey
could someone explain to me how lead caps work
i see most of the offers i like seem to have one.
most seem to be below 100 daily cap on CPI offers
im struggling to understand how you can be profitable with such low level capping
if an offer pays out 0.66 with a daily cap of 35
that would mean the max possible daily payout you could make is 23.1
with the cost of traffic and the time it would take to set up an optimise
im struggling to see how this could be profitable
especially if the offer could be pulled at any moment
am i seeing this wrong?
just a bit confused on these kind of offers.
thanks
Cap are made to be lifted, they just allow the advertisers to control their test budgets and cut bad performing affs quickly with limited loss.
If your traffic is good you can get that cap increased or even lifted after just a few days of running traffic.
Mehdi
What Mehdi said above is the simple reason for this, they just want to avoid situations where they would get flooded with poor quality leads that would mean a loss for them.
In some cases, the advertisers are too sensitive tho, like the example you mentioned - you can't really do anything with 35 leads, especially at that low payout. 100 is the standard number for new affiliates. But the caps can be lifted pretty quickly with low payout offers usually. In case of higher paying offers, you need to pass a quality check first in order to get the cap lifted.
Hi, Vincent9,
Lead Cap’s main purpose is for the advertisers to be safe and avoid spending their budget on bad traffic.
I can tell you that advertisers usually divide their budget into different networks. You should do the same: in order to maximize your profits, you can try finding the offer you want on several networks.
Moreover, different networks can have a different capping. Why? Due to the fact that the advertiser trusts them. In fact, when the advertiser relies on the network and thinks its traffic is good, he can later increase the capping. This is the reason why you can find the same offer with a higher cap on certain places.
Remember, though: not every CPI offer has capping, so go and look for the ones that do!
Cheers!
thank you for the replies. that clears things up for me.
