Nowadays you'll find bot traffic on almost every source, especially pop traffic sources. If you want to only work with sources that don't have bot traffic - you won't find any. If you do please let me know and I'll happily buy you dinner!
In my own testing, I actually found that some of the best-converting placements have high'ish percentages of bot traffic - up to 40-50% if I remember correctly.
Of course it doesn't mean that bot traffic converts well (although it COULD depending on how advanced the bots are and what kinds of offers you're pushing - there are bots that know how to download and install apps for example). It just means that some placements have really responsive visitors, such that in spite of the bot traffic, the overall placement performance still comes out on top.
To me, a good balance would be to blacklist the placements that have really high percentages of bot traffic, and then just cut the rest based on conversion rates.
