Weird stats from traffic ?
Hey guys,
So I don't want to be the one crying about how terrible traffic is but I cant figure out whats wrong with my stats , its pop traffic.
Total clicks to offer: 95,759
Total unique clicks: 54,242
I'm new to pops so am not sure if this stats makes sense or not but I feel something is off here. I'm using 1/24 cap on this , my only explanation is there is 3G users getting same IP range from carrier and counted as one user on network? half of my daily traffic is counted as duplicate on my network , am also losing like 4 to 6k impressions daily from landingpage to offer page but thats expected with all the redirects and everything , however the duplicate clicks makes no sense whatsoever to me. Hope anyone could shed some light on this.

Part of it are bots, part is lost clicks due to timeouts etc, part is raw hits VS uniques ... there will always be some loss, with POPs about 20% is still considered normal. Your numbers look like 40% loss which is a bit too much. I would look at the LP and make sure it loads fast and the server works fine too. One more thing, when you look at the numbers in your tracking, how much off are those to what the source shows? Because the aff network always show the least clicks of the 3 (source/tracker/aff.network).

THANKS! I was waiting for anyone to shed some light on this , makes no sense whatsoever to me mate , this campaign could easily be a winner if I could get some of this duplicate traffic.
Here are my overall stats
Traffic source: 177,866 impressions
Voluum views: 147,663 so here is 17% click loss and that is PERFECT but it doesnt end here.
Voluum clicks to offer:127,028
Affiliate network raw clicks: 95,769 So here is another 25% loss between from my landing page to offer page
It gets worse
Unique clicks on network: 54,248

so 54% of my traffic is duplicate! , and this happens on daily bases , I have at least 40% of the traffic recorded on network recorded as not unique
I thought my infrastructure is solid , am using linode in singapore 4GB and the traffic is in SE asia , am using cloudfront , my loadtime is from 200 to 500 ms max from anywhere in the world. I really feel lost with this , not sure if I should blame traffic or blame myself.

Ok, so the loss is 17% from traffic source to Voluum - this is quite normal. POPs are always like this, consider it part of the traffic price.
Some clicks will always be lost on the LP - what kind of LP is is actually, 147k views and 127k clicks is actually a very good number if they have to click something, or did I understand it wrong and you're directlinking?
The number that affiliate network shows you is pretty useless, they play with the numbers to get better looking EPCs, part of the traffic gets redirected as it doesnt match the targeting etc ...
Don't look at this as you could be profitable if the traffic was counted in a different way... it simply wont. What you see is what you get. These losses are part of the game and you gotta incorporate them into your expenses.

Its not direct linking , they have to click through landingpage , even if there is 25% loss from my landingpage to offer page due to slow redirects I cant control , I cant make sense of the 54% duplicate users , its 40% daily at least , didnt know networks play with numbers honestly , I always added click loss to budget before but I never saw this much of duplicate clicks . guess I just have to move on , the campaign is breaking even on this , guess I will have to take it as it is and keep testing or try a different traffic source

, Thanks mate for your help
