I talked to Burton one of the owners of FBFist and convinced him to create a package for us. 22% discount + 5 more domains on the developer license which comes as standard with 30 domains.
http://www.fbfist.com/
When checking out use code: stackmoney
* please note that this is NOT an affiliate link. I've already purchased my version of Developer at full price of $97 for 30 domains. I've also assured Burton that we won't be sharing this externally so pls keep this STRICTLY to STM members *ONLY*
looks like a sick tool... what i can't seem to find on their site is how it actually works. does it send the data to Aweber or iContact or does it build the list and deliver the emails on it's own? Also curious if it delivers an email to their email address or a message to their facebook inbox.
Thanks for negotiating that deal. Definitely looks powerful but I'm wondering about the same stuff as profitable. I assume it just parses all the data into custom fields (ex: Aweber) and you can then segment/broadcast your list from within Aweber?
I doubt it can be used to send emails though.
this would be more awesome if their demo worked the last 13 days
yeah wtf is up with their demo I want to buy it but their demo is fucked up they need to fix it like now, they are gonna lose me as a customer.
Facebook rolled out some major changes on the 1st of October re: Javascript API and oAuth 2.0 which I assume this plugin uses. Maybe thats why the plugin is down.
I had to do some major tweaks to my facebook page tabeditor as well.
Also - i would be very careful with the "viral wall poster" that is referred to by the video. The 1 thing that will get your apps banned quickly is going on a wall spamming spree.
so i've been MIA because been busy and also spent a few hours yesterday trying to set this up on mediatemple to no avail.. for some reason the host file on MT is not recognizing the fbfist server so had to resort to beyondhosting (which worked flawlessly)
anyhow on to answering some questions
1) it's preintegrated with aweber, interspire, getresponse, icontact and imnica
2) to see a sample of what the request looks like click here: http://mesasixdev.com/fbfist/ (test12345 facebook app which has default logo)
3) you can capture the following data:
Email
About Me
User Activities
User Birthday
User Hometown
User Interests
User Relationship Status
Religion / Politics
User Website
Post to Wall
Offline Access
I think there's some amazing stuff that can be done with this so I'll keep you posted
Is it possible to get a double opt-in lead through this tool?
here's aweber integration

and here's an implementation on a reveal page

btw guys have added some videos..http://fbfist.com/videos/
i'll admit it's been a work in progress but they are quick to respond/fix.. i'm getting about 70% conversion on capturing data on fbfist then passing it on to aweber.... not bad at all
you don't have to buy this script to do this....its pretty easy to do...its just a standard app accept.....
Anyone want the script I use?
sure I'll take it
Sounds good. would take it too.
cool. bacon's got it as he wants to do a video about it and seeing he's way better then me in that sort of stuff Ill let him post it!
cool looking forward to seeing it and getting the script. nice.
I'll try it too.... thx
bring it to the board, would love to see it.. really interested in the "posting while offline"
Hi Bacon / Tijn - was this video done... can't find it in the FB section. Am itching to get my hands on something like this - and curious to how yours compare to all the features of fbFist.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Facebook shut this down before too long. They don't want advertisers to have access to that kind of data about their users. Similarly, users don't want advertisers to have that kind of information available to us.
The difference between the advertising platform and this, is that FBFist (appears) to attach the users' name to their data.
