Overage/untracked conversions

AM told me I got some "overage" conversions and added them back to my account. What exactly is overage conversions? I'm guessing it's untracked conversions, but why was it untracked?

This usually happens due to conversions that come in without an affiliate cookie or subid attached.

There are many reasons why cookies may not be available.

It could have been deleted, blocked, or simply past the lifetime of the cookie.

The main thing to know is that a certain % of your conversions will always be lost if cookies are being used for attribution.

A network can decide to keep those conversions as extra profit or distribute them to some (top earners) or all their affiliates.

What Mr.Baffoe said, plus sometimes there are technical problems and postbacks don't fire correctly, when they figure it out, they can re-fire them or simply add the leads to your stats. The fact they did it, means you most likely are with a honest affiliate network, which is a good sign
