GEO Interrelatedness Impact On Scaling

Hi,

Maybe its obvious to some here, but didnt find it mention anywhere so far.

From my experience Ads in a specific geo are very strongly related, even if you target different interest in that geo.

Meaning it might be possible to scale up one or two campaign in a geo. If you start many though (by duplicating) etc they will also influence each other heavily, and its gets much harder to scale each one.

So what is your strategy? Having single ones and scale them up high or go sideways?

Cheers

Duplicating / split testing, with different targeting criteria so there's no risk of bidding against yourself for the same traffic.

Tons of affiliates target the same GEO, and many of them can make it work. The reason why you see your campaigns influencing each other is because you are not spreading it out enough, you need more diversity - you use a limited amount of sources, similar creatives, similar LPs and a smaller set of offers. If you want to fully dominate one GEO, the only way to do this is to act as you were several people So use totally different offers, many different creatives, different domains, different LPs ... simply make it as its a completely different person doing their thing. Keep it isolated, dont use the same approach and you will do just fine

Hey,

actually i only duplicate for different targeting interest, but that seems to kill/influence the original ad.

You can only influence the original ad if you keep part of the campaigns the same. Or the traffic source isnt doing what it is supposed to do and they are basically just increasing the cap for you - showing the same ad to the same surfer again.
