We're Gonna Kill It, Or Die Trying (mobile).
Bleeding... but still moving forward.
The goal this year is to launch my first $100/day campaign.
- No longer have irrational fear of losing money.
- Not afraid of anyone stealing my stuff (if it's stealable, I'm worth a mil).
- I'll throw someone off the bridge if it means I win*
*this is a joke. I won't throw anyone off the bridge (unless you really piss me off )
I've launched 2 campaigns so far, using the mobile cookbook: Appetizer.
With each campaign launch, the way I think and the way I launch campaigns keeps changing.
Good for learning, but I want to hammer down a "campaign launching system" that will allow me to launch 2 test camps per week.
May goal: create a "campaign launch system to launch 2 campaigns a week"
Constants:
Traffic source: Go2Mobi
Vertical:
Sweepstakes
PIN Submits
Utilities
I've learned that I messed up in choosing verticals. I've Been saying "I want to do sweeps/pins" but have only chosen the offers (mostly game apps and utility apps) recommended by my Affiliate Managers, as detailed in the appetizer. (*Question1 below)
Geos:
South East Asia
Africa
LATAM
Budget: $30/day (appetizer recommended)
Bid: Go2Mobi auto bidder
Tools:
Forum: STM
VPS: Hostwinds
Tracking: CPVLABS
Graphics: Photoshop
Landing pages: WordPress + OptimizedPress
VPN: HideMyAss
Drug: coffee.
*Question1:
To stay consistent with my "campaign launch system"... I will only stick to PINS and sweepstakes. But does that mean I trash my list of offers to test? They were recommended by my affiliate managers and top listing.
Question 2:
Hostwinds dacenters are located in Dallas Texas and Seattle Washington. Does this matter for the Geos I want to target (Africa, SE Asia, LATAM)?
The Hostwinds Rep said SE Asia would run better on their Seattle center, but what does STM think? Is Hostwinds a sunk cost?
Question 3:
Not a question... But I'm gonna go off on a limb and guess that WordPress + optimizedpress is unacceptable website setup here in STM. Yes?
P.s.
I bet you guys are use to dudes being "Rah rah rah" And then disappearing after a few weeks. ..

Hi Lloydmc;
Just wanted to say that the Arabic banners are messed up. You probably using a version of Photoshop that doesn't support Arabic. No wonder you got no conversion because the angles are all messed up. that isn't the way Arabic is. For example "play Now" in Arabic is
العب الان
Not
ن ا ل ا ب ع ل ا
Hope you get my point, Hit me up over skype i might help with that ked.design

What I'm noticing in both your campaign 2 and campaign 0 (especially this one) is that you have really high CPMs (up to $22). Why were you bidding that high?
And about your ZA campaign: I believe ZA is pretty competitive, which is reflected in the CPMs ($2.50 compared to $0.20 in UAE). With a low payout offer as suggested in the appetizer I believe that's a pretty difficult campaign to get profitable. Maybe switching your efforts to 'cheaper' geos gives you more breathing space/lower costs/more data for the same costs?
Regarding wordpress for your landing pages; that seems a bit overkill. I noticed wordpress templates load quite slowly, which is no good if it causes people to click away from your page. A simple html page should do fine and loads quicker if you pay some attention to it.
Please anyone correct me if my observations/suggestions are wrong!

Thanks hang man, appreciate the critique.
I met a lady at the airport who spoke Arabic and she pretty much said the same thing. I was just anxious to push the campaign out.
If I do decide to venture back into the UAE I will give you a shout out.

!
Yea, I thought that was a bit rough myself. I wasn't expecting ZA to be so high for such a low payout.

What an well-organized and detailed follow-along! Can't keep myself from dropping by.
Nice choice of traffic source, verticals and geos. But PLEASE stay far away from wordpress - it will increase your page load times significantly, and page load time has a major effect on CTR and CR.
I'm just going to start from your first post and work my way to the most recent one.
*Question1:

It's better to stick with a single vertical for a while, so you can learn what kinds of angles and headlines work etc. I personally find that a lot of the offers on top offers lists are harder to make profitable because they tend to be for highly-competitive tier 1 geos. The good thing is that they are proven offers so you know they'll at least convert. If you're learning the ropes, getting green is less important than learning lots - and by running proven offers you'll likely get conversions, which are what you'll need to learn to optimize a camp.
Either choice would be fine - pick one and get started would be my advice.
Question 2:

For self-hosted trackers, the closer the datacenter is to your target geo, the faster the tracker will redirect your visitors. I just don't know how much faster.
You could still just use your current setup to run camps. If you find something promising and profitable, you can always get another server then. I wouldn't worry about this half as much as I would about using wordpress for landers. *shivers*
Question 3:
Not a question... But I'm gonna go off on a limb and guess that WordPress + optimizedpress is unacceptable website setup here in STM. Yes?
Yup as was mentioned twice above.
P.s.

All great observations! I hadn't even noticed the high CPMs - good eye!
@Lloyd: What are your bid settings like? I'm guessing you're not using autobid.

And how did you pick the bid?
