I'm trying to split test the diff textlink ad types on traffic vance. Didn't want to have to create a new campaign for each ad, so I thought I might be able to append each ad type as a token...I believe it's possible, just don't know how to do it.
Here is what I tried:
Added extra token
token name: adtype
URL Append: &adtype=%%$ADTYPE%%
parameter: adtype
then I took my CPVlab generated Campaign URL and went to Traffic Vance:
For my textlink only ad I changed the end of the URL to look like this:
&keyword=%%$KEYWORD%%&adtype=textlink
For my brandbox textlink ad I changed the end of the URL to look like this:
&keyword=%%$KEYWORD%%&adtype=125x125x1
For my 300x250 banner textlink ad I changed the end of the URL to look like this:
&keyword=%%$KEYWORD%%&adtype=300x250x1
etc
When I check my stats in CPVlab, that column under adtype is now empty.
I promise to 'thank' anyone that has the answer...twice if I need to...
Thanks
Gary
I always put the variable token (i.e. keyword) last. Try that. Should should be able to pop the link and see if it works before going through TV.
Have you tried clicking on your own campaign URL to see if it comes through and records allright? Just dont use the test link in CPVLab as that does not record the click.
