1st campaign with Leadimpact is not going well, i'm already upset

First and only keyword added 3 days ago, approved yesterday

spirithalloween.com/childrens-costumes

I'm the only bidder.
No traffic, very unusual for a website ranked 1,468 in US

So today i've added

spirithalloween.com/chi
thalloween.com/ch
thalloween.com/chi

to find out if someone is bidding on the short version of the URL i'm bidding on.

Result ?
3 keywords disapproved

Reason ?

One or more of your keywords were disapproved for the reason(s) listed below.

Due to our direct relationship with this client, we do not allow third parties to promote the offer.

So is this their policy ?
They wipe out any competitions that goes head to head with them ?

yup, they own the traffic. nothing you can do, but move on.

Yup , that's how they do business.

We can either accept it and play by their rules or move on...

ya LI is 100% an aff.....you are playing in their sandbox....they pitch themselves as a traffic source but they are 100% an aff

10-01-2011 04:59 PM #6 IvanOng (Member)

they make money running cpa offers and offering you to be an advertiser so that they can continue stealing your ideas and campaigns so you pay to help them do all the research..

10-01-2011 06:19 PM #7 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Yup , once one of my AMs confirmed I was competing with LI for a certain offer I was running on LI...

They DO run internal campaigns and a lot of times they will plain rip your stuff.

So whats the take away from this? Don't run offers on LI?

Could you describe a bit what you do exactly for "cloaking"? Is it the same as for FB, showing them some clean lander/offer and after approval change out URLs and hope they don't retro-check your campaign?

yes bait and switch can work for a few days but they will catch you....kinda have to have some software like you do on fb.....to do it right....

custom software....or can you recommend any software out there?

They were running BeNaughty US and stole literally 3 of my affiliates ads that were running on there. I had one pub pushing > 100 leads a day on LI, and they contacted him and said he was interfering with their direct relationship so they have to shut his campaign down. Then he went to the targets and noticed his lander was jacked and the campaign was still running...

Careful!

These days I don't know many traffic networks outside of Google and Facebook that don't run internal even if they swear they don't. You think trafficvance doesn't run internal? Plenty of Fish? Sitescout? All the traffic sources affiliates talk about in the open are not only running internal but often are more than happy to steal a good campaign provided its minimal effort to do so.

There's a new business model sweeping the game now, build a traffic network, buy advertising and featured posts on affiliate blogs and forums, let hundreds of money hungry affiliates pay you to find your best traffic and what to run to it, steal it, sell off the rest of the shittier inventory, retire.

You can own the traffic, or own the offer and let everyone else fight it out, or deal with the reality that everyone is watching you when you are buying from these providers, affiliates, networks, merchants, the traffic sources themselves, and even the FTC to just to fuck you if you manage to get around everyone else and still make a bunch of a cash

My question is, have any of you offer owners been approached by LI to run internally? I'm assuming if you have something working with their traffic that itd be an option.

Nonsense. We have never run internal campaigns and never will. Our focus is purely on technology and building a world-class platform. I promise you we have zero desire in taking on the various risks of running affiliate campaigns. As a long-term technology company, that would be an extremely short-sighted and foolish business plan.

Good to hear.

Looking for the LI cloaker desperately...!

like any industry there are different shades of traffic networks. on the one end you have legit ones that dont run internal and dont 'steal', and on the other end there is Lead Impact

All i say is Karma....

and I like playing god
