How does a new guy start??

Im running a bing campaign and making $50 a week, Pffft! Funny I was so excited when I saw my first $47 comm. on an $11.00 ad spend. I'am good at copywriting and well versed in managing a PPC campaign, but the cloaking, the offers, the traffic sources etc... I'd like to at least start on the right path. My goal is $5k a day. I make about $500K a year right now promoting my own stuff. I just want to start affiliate marketing but there is so much information its unreal. Wish there was a dude teaching some basic offer and black hat principles on traffic platforms that are scaleable. Is there such a thing?

The main problem to me is: since you are allegedly making quite a bit of money already and you want to do something completely new, the path to reach the monetary goal that you have in mind it's duable but definitely long and likely frustrating. So my question is, are you willing to commit your time and energy in order to gain peanuts for possibly quite a while when on the other hand you seem to have a pretty steady business already?

Second point is, don't blindly trust people just because they claim to be succesful or because they are generally recognized to be succesful, because this does not always mean that they really know what they are doing (even if they are having nice results, and even if they may think otherwise), try always to analize critically what you read around and if that makes sense to you, based on your knowledge, tests and experience. As someone wise once said, "assume nothing, question everything"

Where to start? In my humble opinion adult could be an option, because of a few reasons:

1) You don't need to do anything blackhat or to cloak, which AFAIK is mandatory in other fields in order to reach significant results. Problem is, cloaking efficently it's not easy, and the banhammer on platforms like Adwords or FB can smash you pretty hard if you don't know what you are doing

2) You could start experimenting with offers with a low CPA (which is often the way to go when you try something completely new), gain experience and use it with more complex and profitable adult offers once you become more expert. Adult it's far to be easy, but what is easy nowadays anyway?

A similar logic applies to games on FB for instance (whitehat, low CPA), but in my opinion it could be harder to reach similar results in the same timeframe, but I could be wrong on this and definitely it's also a personal choice, since what you are going to promote would be different

In my opinion you should avoid things like sweepstakes and even CPI, because the offers are changing all the time and all of a sudden, moreover I think it's close to impossible to hit consistent results without cloaking and by working alone.

Generally speaking, in the end:

1) Outsmarting sounds nice but is overrated to me, outworking is not and you can gain a pretty solid edge just by experimenting and testing more than the average AM

2) Having the right relationships is key, both with affiliate networks/offers provider and other AMs, so keep your enemy close and your friends closer

Hope this could help, and best of luck with whatever you will eventually pick!

Im willing to put in the work and make peanuts yes, I hear you. I want to avoid adult content, its not my thing. I was going through Tuan Vys course and although its solid, Im just not wanting to do porn like offers, or dating. I'd like to do whats hot. What tools can I use to spy, and whats the best reasonably priced cloaker? Also are do bing direct linking campaigns have large $$ potential? Thanks for your reply man!

I totally understand if adult is not your thing.

However, the problem with this logic

is that what is hot now is unlikely to be hot in 6 months from now, or even less, so instead of running after what is hot now starting from scratch (which means that chances of succeding are low, especially because competition will be huge and way ahead of any newcomer for obvious reasons) I think it would be better to pick something that you think you would like to do longterm, and stick with it at least for a while.

For instance, right now I'm told that sweepstakes on pop traffic are pretty hot, but I would never suggest you to try that: even AMs with some experience who never tried it before would have an hard time making them profitable, without any kind of previous experience with that vertical and traffic source.

The use of a prelanding (even a pretty simple one) it's usually way better than direct linking in almost any situation (Adwords, adult, FB), but at the same time there are exceptions sometimes, even relevant. However, I would suggest you to try using a prelanding: ceteris paribus it's likely to improve your results rather than not. Make sure it's resonably fast when it loads, it's pretty important especially on mobile.
