Hey everyone,
I'd like to ask a couple of questions about tracking, hoping I won't upset anyone with the level of dumbness and noobness in them

Is it possible to use s2s tracking (using Voluum) when my landers are hosted on amazon s3 with CDN ?

Is Voluum's "Click URL", the link I should be using for my cta buttons on my landers and not the unique link I got from the aff.network (cake) ?

Technical part of tracking is a big puzzle for me, any help would be much appreciated.

Hello

To sort out the confusion :

1. you get a link from affiliate network - this link points/leads to an offer - you use this link to setup an OFFER in Voluum
2. you make a campaign in Voluum, you pick an LP (or directlink), you select an offer - and voluum will generate a campaign link for you - you send traffic from a traffic source to this link
3. the link : customdomain.com/click - this is the one you link the CTA button on your LP to

When setting up the offers, you need to add the right variables to actually pass the click ID to the affiliate network, so they can pass the info back to your tracker via the s2s postback. Doesnt matter where your landers are hosted. The click ID is just part of the "url" that gets transfered further.

I think I got it and now I can see visits and clicks on LPs being tracked on Voluum.

If I could bother you once more and be a little more specific with my questions:

So, since I'm using Voluum and the network uses cake..
When setting up the offer in voluum, variables should be in cake "language" ?
hxxp://cake.com/?a=00000&c=00000&s1=#campaign.id#&s2=#clickid#

The postback voluum gives me to put in the cake platform, should be in voluum "language" ?
hxxps://xxxx.voluumtrk.com/postback?cid={REPLACE}&payout={OPTIONAL}&txid={OPT IONAL}

And in order to send conversions from voluum back to traffic source, do I use the same postback link voluum gives me for the network but change it in traffic source "language" and put it in traffic source's Postback URL in voluum ?

Hello again.

You dont use the cake language when setting up offers in Voluum, you need to use it to structure the postback.

All you have to do in Voluum is add this at the end of the offer link that you copied from the affiliate network : &s2={clickid}
Double check with your aff network, but they usually want the variable to be "s2".

The postback is a bit more tricky, thats where you have to ask the network what they can actually pass back to your tracker. You need at least the clickid back.
So your cake postback url would look like this : hxxps://xxxx.voluumtrk.com/postback?cid=#s2#

If you want to use the payout variable too for example, you just replace the {OPTIONAL} with #OPTIONAL# and ask your aff network for the variable, which you them put in the link instead of OPTIONAL.
So the link COULD looks like this : https://xxxx.voluumtrk.com/postback?...&payout=#rate#
