Mobile pin submit (1 click flow) on Go2Mobi...is there any good traffic!?!?

Hi all,

we are testing some mobile pin submit offer (1 click flow) on Go2Mobi. The introduction is that on Facebook and GDN these offers perform pretty well (100%+ roi). We are using the same prelanders, but of course different banners.

We split tested 10 angles each campaigns, with these targeting:
- Only App traffic + all the available smartphone OS + Carrier1
- Only Site traffic + all the available smartphone OS + Carrier1
and the same split test for the other Carriers.

There is a ton of traffic (more than 300k Impressions), but the statistics are insane.

- Spent 100x CPA
- average ctr 0,9% (no misleading)
- average prelander CTR 5% (on FB and GDN the same prelanders have a 80% ctr). This means we are paying each prelander clicks 50% of the CPA
- -90% ROI

The questions are:

1. How is it possible that the mobile traffic in these geos sucks in this way? Of course i know that the quality of the traffic could not be compared to FB/GDN, but these stats are insane.
2. How could we spy on Go2Mobi in order to understand which kind of mobile pin submit (1 click flow) vertical is popular there? We are using Adplexity but the Go2Mobi traffic is pretty low there. I'm asking this because i start thinking that mobile pin submit (1 click flow) offers aren't so popular on go2mobi.

We don't have any budget limits, and we are pretty sure these offers perform well because of our results on FB and GDN, but observing these stats i just have to give up. Are you agree with it? Or when you know that the offers perform well on other traffic sources, you keep testing and blacklisting ?

Sorry if i can't provide the banners/landers/offers but we are running them on other traffic sources so we want to avoid to be copied eheh. But the crux of the matter

You need to realize 2 things :

1. google search traffic is generally way better in quality, there is nothing that could compare to it. FB is also awesome when targeted properly. What you are buying from go2mobi AND any DSP for that matter, is left overs from google and generally lower quality traffic from a mega mix of placements.

2. google and facebook have maaaaaany times more volume than all the other exchanges combined. You might see 300k impressions available, but when you cut the bad placements and target more precisely, the volume will go down a lot. And thats what you have to do, weed out the bad placements and focus on the good ones.

The results you see are pretty bad tho, considering you took a working funnel and just transfered it.

Do the following : look at the stats and cut the worst placements, I bet there are some with lousy ctr like 0.05% or so and those drain your budget. Check the stats by carrier, sometimes the carrier targeting doesnt work too well and you are also getting traffic from carrier (or wifi) that cannot be converted.

Im also using adplexity, its good enough for inspiration

Ty matuloo for you help, of course what you said is pretty reasonable and i'm not expect to make the same ROI and the same volume of FB/GDN for sure. Btw the volume is good for this GEO (we spent 100$ in 1 hour with the auto-bid option). For sure we tried to blacklist a lot, and 4 placements are good (they are spending 20$ a day at 100% roi, and they are the only one that converted in the initial test). My concern is about the prelander CTR. The banners aren't misleading and their ctr is around 0,7-0,9% ctr so i guess it's good, but if only 5-10% of people click on the prelander the clicks on it become very expensive. I created a report about the CPC (on the prelander) we are paying on each placements and it's around 2$ (CPA is 5$) on most of them.

I also tried to manual spy on the Apps where i'm buying most of the traffic (e.s. Ask.fm, TuneID and so on) and every time i see a Google Ads, not a Smaato ones. I'm in the same country of the offers, so i can use my mobile connection to spy.

Adplexity is great, but there isn't too much Go2Mobi traffic. Isn't there any other spy tool for its Exchanges?

thank again for your post.

Check the CTR just for the 4 mentioned placements that are giving you good ROI. Im sure it will be way better than the total average. And this is what you got to do, find more placements like these - unfortunately, their amount will be limited.

Yup, google gets the best traffic, the rest goes to other exchanges. Im not sure how exactly they decide when to pass the impression on, but that's the reason why even after X reloads you still see just google ads. BTW : go2mobi also gives you access to google display network, so maybe you are getting the traffic through them and not smaato?

Unfortunately I'm not aware of a better one

No i'm not running the campaigns on GDN with go2mobi because the banners haven't been approved there (they have been approved on all the other exchange).

Thank you again and have a nice day
