Where to Get Creatives for Mobile Game Ads?
Hi All,
Brand new to AM. Just got on with Adsimilis and was recommended a mobile game offer to start. Sounds good. Only problem is the creatives.
I'm proficient enough with Photoshop to rip an ad and then change it up to make it my own or even start form scratch when it's text + photographs. But mobile game ads are illustrations for the most part. Hard, if not impossible, for me to rip and alter to make my own. I don't have adobe illustrator skills at all and while I intend to learn, I've had this offer set up for over a week now and want to get started.
Anyone know where I can make or buy cheap illustrations for mobile game ads? How do mobile game campaigners do it usually?
One company I spoke to said a minimum of $200 for ONE ad which isn't financially feasible on an offer like this. Thanks in advance folks.

People usually just rip the banners they see online or in spy tools, which is a feasible way to get started. Then they do small changes and tweak them to work better. I don't see a reason to not do the same with game banners - you can still add a button, change border, play with saturation etc ... you can crop the banner, cut out some part and paste it in another banner etc ...
Another approach is to actually visit the game landing page itself and take some graphics elements from there - my designer is doing this all the time, I just give him the URL, he grabs a logo, makes a screenshot or whatever he needs and makes a banner using what he grabbed. Any decent designer must be able to do this. You can also download the game, play it and take screenshots during the play - then crop the pics of characters, gameplay screens etc ... and use it for banners. Paying $200 per banner is total nonsense, especially for affiliate marketing purposes where you need to test a ton of ads.

Good points, matuloo. I appreciate it. I've downloaded a bunch of ads through a google image search and will tweak them in ways you've suggested. Thanks for the reply; weird how such a relatively small thing can throw you off when you're starting something new.

You're welcome. Google image search can work for ideas too, I also use it sometimes, but a spytool is way more convenient, tho I understand the higher price can be a setback when you're just starting out.

Open up the game and screenshot the elements you want. Remember, your creatives go through approvals by the advertiser, so if they okay it, then you're all clear for take off.

You can also hit up your Adsimilis rep for help as well. We are insightful, helpful and noobie friendly. Something like this should be a small barrier and easily overcome. ping your rep and get over this hurdle.

Find some creative students. There's a couple of people on the forums who make adult related banners. The creativity behind them is on another level. Easy transfer to PG13 gaming.
