Looking For Some Feedback On What To Do In PPV!

Haven't posted here and I am looking to get some feedback on a campaign I am running.

I saw this LP being ran so I decided to try it out:
http://www.newfreesurveys.com/iPad/

my stats so far are:
3492 views
157 clicks
4.5% lp ctr
15 leads at 1.60

my cpv is .015 cents and im running on leadimpact.
I am targeting the free giveaway sweepstakes sites. I am just looking for feedback on how you would start optimizing a campaign like this, I am already dayparting, what more can be done to achieve a higher LP ctr? or should I switch out the offer?

I would rotate a lot of different offers (male/female related) to see what demo you reach on your targets. Also adding some audio would probably boost the CTR although the lander is pretty much "abused" on PPV, hehe. Did you split test lander/direct linking yet?

I'm pretty sure adding a voice saying something like "You won" would increase LP CTR a lot.

Also adding pics of "previous winners" along with a short testimonial ( "Hey I saw this and thought it was a fake but I got my ipad in a week") will add social proof to the page
and make it look more real.

Last , try adding a text saying "Only (6) IPads Remaining" or "Sent a total of (25) iPads this week" .
This will add urgency.

I see you had 15 leads out of 157 clicks. It's a bit low from my experience ( since you are already prequalifying users ).
Try split testing multiple ipad offers.

Make the changes and let us know how it goes.

Updated with the ugency, bbrock, what conversion rate do I aim for?

05-01-2011 09:52 PM #5 southbound (Member)

Something you might try testing is the ipad2 gwp offer at silverpath. I don't have a whole lot of experience with the giveaway offers as I'm pretty much just trying them out, but I've seen rpu's in the $4-$5 range some days. just a thought anyway.

05-01-2011 09:53 PM #6 bbrock32 (Administrator)

On an ipad offer I'm running I'm getting from 20% to 30% ( prequalifying users )

Peerfly has some good ones. Try adding them to the rotation.

Dont forget sound and social proof , they will make a lot of change.

Also you have a typo in the word visitors.

Rotating iPad 2 submits, may of gotten scrubbed on the one I was running with Peerfly

05-02-2011 04:37 AM #8 hd2010 (Member)

man your LP make my eyes dizzy

05-02-2011 09:28 AM #9 stackman (Administrator)

@hd2010 haha same here, i call those seizure landing pages

05-03-2011 02:47 AM #10 jroes57 (Member)

Okay so adding urgency didnt help still at the same LP ctr, does anyone have any sound files I can use?

05-03-2011 07:19 PM #11 jroes57 (Member)

Okay so the sound brought my LP ctr down to around 3.5%, all the iPad submits on peerfly are converting the same, I believe I got scrubbed. Whats the next step to do in this situation?

Final stats:

132.37 spent
52.25 revenue

05-03-2011 07:21 PM #12 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Put some pictures of previous winners along with some testimonials.
This adds social proof to the page.

Okay I did all that, paused the main keyword and now running the rest of the domains, slow volume but a little bit profitable

05-05-2011 09:29 AM #14 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Ok very good.

Now slowly add new domains in batch and test each batch for 1-2 days.

You should get the profitable domains you have and enter them in the related domain finder tool in affexpert ( or manually go to alexa , quantcast and similarsites.com ) .

This should give you some more urls to scale it.

05-05-2011 04:51 PM #15 stacksofgreen (Member)

Have you tried a Zip submit offer? Maybe you probably get better conversions there. I know Addrive.com has a crap load of zip submits only. So you may when to split test an offer there. I seen some good conversions when I ran with Directcpv with them.

05-07-2011 04:06 AM #16 jroes57 (Member)

I would bbrock, but my subscription for affexpert just ended, and I don't know if im able to afford those tools right now gotta make some money
your tools are really good tho!

05-07-2011 07:48 AM #17 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Hey jroes, you will be able to afford it shortly after following the lessons here.
Anyway , what I said before can be done manually too.
Go to similarsites.com , quantcast.com alexa.com and copy / paste the related urls manually.

05-07-2011 09:05 AM #18 jroes57 (Member)

Im trying, its hard to optimize stats when LI charges you for way more then what you have recorded.
Should I move the campaign over to traffic vance instead?

Also its hard to expand the URL list since I targeted the free gift card root domains. Makes it hard to go through similarsites.com

05-10-2011 05:15 AM #19 jroes57 (Member)

So far I think I have the campaign now at break even but low volume. Gotta figure out more targets to test.

I added some things on the home page, anyone else running an email submit like this? I'm achieving a 15% cvr. Interested to hear others stats

05-12-2011 09:31 PM #20 jroes57 (Member)

So after looking at some of the domains I have been targeting they all have a reach of 35-44 year old females and I put that into google media planner. Range of sites I got were a lot of coupon sites:

What should I do? Is this the type of market I am looking for to click on my ad fo a free iPad? or how do I use google media planner efficiently to research my demographic?

Might sound confusing

05-12-2011 11:30 PM #21 Mr Green (Administrator)

Something you should really focus on is making sure your leads are good quality. Talk to your affiliate manager and ask where you stand. You will never be able to scale big if you keep getting scrubbed because of bad quality leads. Plus, if you are providing good quality leads you can get payouts over $2.

Things that would help would be splitting your campaign into different demographics. Also playing around with the wording of your lander. Even though "Congratulations You Won" may convert well for YOU, it may not convert well for the advertiser. If the advertiser ain't making money then you will struggle to scale.

05-13-2011 12:12 AM #22 jroes57 (Member)

Thanks for the insight mr. green!
I asked addrive about my quality and the other network about the quality.

Mr Green, how do you split the campaign up into different demographics?
Anything you recommend from your experience of running submits that generates good quality?

05-15-2011 09:51 PM #23 Mr Green (Administrator)

It depends what your targeting...but lets say you are like 90% of affiliates and promoting that iPad submit. It's a very broad offer that works on a tonne of sites. So you can break up your campaigns into demographics. For example splitting sites skewed towards woman (fashion & entertainment) and sites for teenage boys (gaming sites).

The younger the demographic the lower quality it seems.

05-16-2011 09:05 PM #24 jroes57 (Member)

Just got canned from the offer for running it with this type of LP. any suggestions on what to change?

05-16-2011 09:13 PM #25 Mr Green (Administrator)

Your LP is not the problem, its the quality of leads that is the problem (that could be caused by a combination of traffic and lander). Try target a more mature demographic. Also for interests sake I would change the testimonials at the bottom explaining a bit more in detail what users had to do to get the iPad. That is something your AM can tell you. They will let you know at what stage in the path they profit at.

Work with your AM to get really high quality leads (it might not be profitable off the bat). Then slowly moves things around so it's work for you. Maybe the first step is getting rid of any "win" or "winner" wording. If you can get quality up, you know there is big scale waiting for you.

05-16-2011 09:29 PM #26 jroes57 (Member)

They told me I violated FTC guidelines for promoting email submits

05-16-2011 09:54 PM #27 Mr Green (Administrator)

Then you gotta ask them what exactly are breaking the FTC guidelines. I'm guessing its the testimonials. Work with your AM to make it work for the both of you. No harm in asking him for examples of compliant landers.

Thanks for the tip! I was going to start with the younger demo, but not anymore. Actually, really depends, lol.

05-17-2011 02:31 AM #29 jroes57 (Member)

Ill keep on trying Mr Green, my AM isn't being very responsive
I cannot mention free gift anywhere in the page is what she told me.

Anyone know how that voice was recorded?

05-17-2011 09:45 AM #30 Mr Green (Administrator)

Go to fiverr.com you can get a couple of different wording variations for $5.

I use this lady http://www.fiverr.com/users/shudoranmaru the quality is great and her turn around time is super fast.

05-18-2011 03:05 AM #31 jroes57 (Member)

Wow thanks! Ill have to try it out

05-21-2011 08:00 PM #32 jroes57 (Member)

@jroes57

Damn man - thought for a second i was looking at a dating campaign

05-22-2011 03:57 AM #34 jroes57 (Member)

That's kinda the point, those type of girls are generally the most clicked in even outside dating

05-22-2011 03:41 PM #35 epicskillz (Senior Member)

Hmm..

How about hot babes each holding an iPad?

05-24-2011 10:14 PM #36 sntr (Member)

how about no hot babes but testimonials that look more legit...

with this kind of headline quality must suck, how about straight "want an ipad2? take 3 easy steps and get one for free" ... "see testimonials below, it works!", idk just an idea...

or the survey style, never tried them but they must work from what i see.

hey stackman - there's an idea for a case study / guide / whatever you call those (unless there has been one already covering ES/ZS, i'm just looking around for 2 hours or so in this forum)
