Is managed VPS is enough?

Hi,
I've seen some of you guys are buying un-managed VPN and using the STM script to run it.
In addition to that, i've seen that you are adding S3 & CloudFront with NS1.net.

My question is if all of that is really necessary?

Can't I simply buy managed VPN server on Beyond Hosting for example?

Let me know

first off VPS is not VPN.

You can get a managed VPS, some people prefer to pay $5-$10 per month for an unmanaged digital ocean or linode instance instead of $50+ a month for a managed vps. That being said managed it usually better for newbs to avoid a lot of less than necessary tech learning.

1. If you have no idea how to manage a server, you take managed to avoid the time/frustration.

2. If you do know how to manage a server, you choose based on pros/cons and whatever it is you want. If unmanaged you are completely flexible with what you do - OS, software environment, etc. If managed you often have cPanel and this restricts in a number of ways but also makes management a little easier.

3. S3, CloudFront, NS1 etc. have little to do with whether you choose a managed or unmanaged server.

Thank you zeon, it's much appreciated!

Hey,

Based on this, a managed vps is like hiring a tech to run a virtual dedicated server so to speak. In this way it costs a little more. Would that still be the best bet for a newbie then? To spend the extra and dive in without the info overload (less you already know how)?

Sorry if this is sort of off topic, last thing I was confused about: If I have a business web page, and say, 10 LPs for a bunch of offers, do I need to get a vps for each?? Can I have all those ".com's" on there? I am under the impression I just buy them [.com's] from BeyondHosting or whoever I am using and point them to my managed servers IP.

Yeah go managed. Beyondhosting is the easiest for newbies as they know the needs of an affiliate marketer. I also like LiquidWeb for managed.

Hi guys i see a lot of post about this and i still don't quite get it. Sorry...
so what is VPS really needed for? sorry but i was introduced to AM by a friend that suggested just to use Hostgator and Wordpress.

can someone please help?

Like what are the cons and pros of acquiring this service?

I know it might be a dumb question but i think i rather ask that just keep trying to figure it myself.

Thanks in advance guys!
