Do toolbars installs convert?

Hi guys,
I don't see threads about toolbars installs. Are they so hard to promote? No money to be made? I'm asking you this because my AM told me that there are some good converting toolbar offers, but I don't know, I was planning to promote app installs and sweeps with pops.

Toolbar offers have been out there forever, but a growing number of users are wary about the fact that they're laden with malware and spyware. Additionally, mobile users have surpassed the number of desktop users, and are growing. It's about convenience. The cameras have phased out cuz now people have cameras in their mobile phones. I have some experience promoting toolbars back in the past circa. 2008-2010. It worked well, but somehow about the tablets came in, they just stopped converting. However, there was an offer called Roblox on the block a while ago, probably still is, where people made some good money promoting it. Some spy tool had outlined a strategy on promoting exactly that very same offer. It was converting well on pop traffic. Try pushing that offer and see what you get.

thank you exaltedmoon, toolbars seem so hard to convert to me because of their repuation, but I see that some offers have been converting for months/years. Maybe I'm gonna try

Toolbars definitely convert. It is important to know how the advertiser behind the offer monetizes their userbase before going live with a campaign though. For instance, we regularly build white labels for toolbars that monetize with search feeds and these carry a much higher user value - if a longer rate of return for the advertiser. Toolbars and extensions that monetize in this fashion do really well on SEM traffic. Some of our affiliates have been pushing the same toolbar offers for 4 years now. So once you crack one of these it can really become a low maintenance and long lasting revenue driver.

Thanks,
Todd
