Will bids on exact/phrase match KW's trump broad or broad+ modifiers or is it just higher bids wins all?
Quick Ex> Say I'm selling a "Stack of Cards" with google adwords.
In this hypothetical situation : "stack of cards" (phrase) gets 20k views / month.
so. With my infinite affiliate wisdom, I know this and I bid $1.50 for exact match keyword "stack of cards"..
Would some guy with his ranch glazed chin and crusty dorito stained keyboard (-about.com) who's promoting every possible idea possible and burning monumental budgets with spammy ads trump me if he bids $1.75 for the broad+ modifier "stack+"
I only use exact match searches so forgive me if I mis-format the broad technologies.
if that's confusing...
If I'm bidding lower, using exact match, will I still lose to someone outbidding me with broad+ modifier for a generic phrase ( and the query triggers the EMS (obviously))?
Its always a function of Ad Rank which is roughly your Bid x your Quality Score.
Quality score is calculated on an exact match query, so how the keyword is setup in your account won't matter for you or them.
It is simply a function of who has a higher adrank.
You should look at your "Auction Insights" report to see whats really going on.
