you got 0.1 ctr and 10$ cpc and you have sales, it is good. 100% ctr and 0.01 cpc but no sale, then it is bad.

Is it mobile or desktop traffic? Who do you target? It depends on a bunch of factors actually, I generally aim for CTR 7%+
Your ad should be engaging to generate high CTR so you end up paying lower CPC while you're maintaining a high relevance score as well.

CTR and CPC are not good metrics to look at as they will differ significantly from campaign to campaign, and from channel to channel.
E.g. Sweeps have different CTRs than e-commerce campaigns
E.g. Pops have different CPCs than Email

The only real metrics you have to look at are:

1. eCPM
which is calculated as follows: (total money made/total number of impressions) * 1,000

2. Operational Profit
This is campaign revenues minus media buying costs so do not include any Overheads such as office, employee cost, etc.

3. Operational Profit MARGIN
This is a percentage - its better to get a small percentage on a big campaign, then a big percentage on a small campaign. Calculation: Total profit divided by Total revenues

CTR of 7% is possible with tier 1 geo?

CTW or PPE ads?

Hi Triangle, of course its possible. It just depends on 100 different factors and its really hard to say without seeing the offer or knowing the targeting options you are working on in FB.
Again, CTR is not a good metric to look at. It is basically a worthless indicator of performance. A campaign with 7% CTR can still lose you money and a 0.5% CTR can still make you money depending on the pay out and your media buying costs. Focus on eCPM, total profits ($) and margin.

What FBQueen is saying is true tho... and ctr isnt a good metric? its important for the reasons FBQueens is saying:

"Your ad should be engaging to generate high CTR so you end up paying lower CPC while you're maintaining a high relevance score as well."

Don't focus on these numbers so much - Focus on CR. Quality clicks > higher cost > can produce significantly more conversions.

Ads can always be made better, never settle for a good 'CTR' or good 'CPC'.

Positive ROI possible with much lower than 7% CTR. fbqueen is just at the top of the game!
