I'm using mobile traffic to a squeeze page where i just ask for email address. Conversion rate is at 2%. My google analytics says my bounce rate is 5.8 % and page/sessions is 3.5. I'm using a basic squeeze with no navigation and just privacy, contact us and terms links at the very buttom. Also I'm using heat maps that say I'm getting 20% CTR. Why does my google analytics say my bounce rate is 5.8%.? Doesn't that mean 94% are clicking through and visiting another page. or is this a sign of bot traffic?
Hello mike35,
The bounce rate refers to the user leaving your site after less than X Seconds and simply loading one page.
Since you are sending traffic directly to a squeeze page the 5.8% means that this % of people are leaving your site after loading just one page, the rest of the people may be visiting your other pages you mention...
Not sure exactly how much time frame GAnalytics gives the user for it to be a bounce it used to be 30 seconds before a user was considered as "interested" on the site.
"An entry page with a low bounce rate means that the page effectively causes visitors to view more pages and continue on deeper into the web site." - Source
