NewBie Photoshop Question (What to buy)

It looks like if I am going to invest time in learning a software to make landing pages I might as well go with photoshop.

Ignorant question here but there are like a million versions of photoshop. What do I want that will let me make good landing pages. I want to be able to draw out eyes, slice add geoscripts etc.

Also imagine I do not need the newest version to be in good shape. Maybe I could pick something up on Ebay or if someone has another suggestion.

FYI.. I advanced searched photoshop here and got as much info as I could find.

I know I will get shit on for this.....

but you dont need PS to start.....

you can do a shit ton of pages with those...

both are free to try....

i would start with those first the learning curve is much less and you can do alot.....

PS is great but not needed....when your first getting rolling.....

Thanks for the reply. Its all greek to me and I am starting at square 1 so I figured might as well start with photoshop as that will be what I will use eventually. I will check out the links. and versed in snagiit already and love that tool.

Dreamweaver is way overpriced and clunky imo.....for 90% of what we do.....simple is good.....esp when your starting out.....

Thanks tijn already fooling around with Pixlr and performed some of the skills you showed in the video. Very cool. Definitely think I will start with this and grow into photoshop. Thanks. I am on my way.

You could download the photoshop 30 day trial for free. It is sickly powerful.

Mrgreen there appears to be 101 varieties of photoshop. Which version would I be looking for. I want to have all the bells and whistles I need for landing pages but dont need to overkill.
