Do IPs really matter on Facebook?

http://www.neowin.net/news/facebooks...-million-users
If you haven't read this article, you shouldn't be running FB.

Question to those who have already read it - do you think IPs really matter, now that Facebook has revealed that they have over 1 million users on their platform using Tor? Has anybody tested it by running a FB account through Tor browser or network?

That's a small % of Facebook users. A very small % of the user base also manages ad accounts. Ergo, a very, very small % of users will run ad accounts AND be using Tor.

That's a pretty easy segment to track in terms of risk assessment and chances are the average likelihood of non-compliant advertising by these users is higher than normal.

It's not sensible to put yourself in a small segment of the user base that is probably already subject to more scrutiny.

I agree with Zeno.
But.... That's still not reason why you shouldn't try it out. Go ahead, maybe it works.

I would think running tor for ad management accounts would greatly put your accounts at an un-necessary risk.

I would strongly advise against this. Zeno hit the nail on this one.

It is risky to use facebook's Tor website as then the chances of you being put in the non compliant advertising category would be more...It is better to stay away from this.

I'd stay away from this... Tor wasn't made for this...

That would only apply if you logged in to the account in a new location directly. If you were to take a facebook account on a trip on your phone for example and just did normal activity like you were on vacation, facebook doesn't block the account because they can see its your normal device and it has all the relevant cookies on it.
