What is Cloaking? Can Somebody Pleas Explain Me!! (4)

Ive been reading this forum a lot, I love it!
But, I've seen a lot the word cloaking!! And I don't understand it!
Can you please explain me what CLOAKING MEANS IN THIS AFFILIATE MARKETING WORLD?

Cloacking means showing 1 page to certain audience and showing a 2nd one to another audience.
Its used to hide rules-breaking (uncompliant) LPs and offers from the reviewers and automatic checking bots.
It was invented when search engines like altavista (before google) or yahoo indexed the web based on on-page factors. All it took was to put the word "sex" on your page a 1000 times and you had the no.1 position for that word, and a fuckload of traffic every day 
Obviously, sending the real visitors to a page that had nothing but the word SEX plastered all over it, would do you no good and bring no business. So it was necessary to shows something else to the real visitors and to the bot that grabbed the page for indexing purposes. Thats how cloacking started.
A good cloacking solution keeps a DB of IPs of known auto-checkers, reviewers etc ... it also uses certain methods to identify reviewers, spy tools etc and shows them a legit page, while the real surfers are shown usually an aggressive landing page or they are directed to an offer that is against the rules of a traffic source. Its is also used to keep the sensitive page hidden from the eyes of competition and spy tools.
When using a cloacking solution to hide stuff like this, expect to get banned when the traffic source finds out and also expect to not get paid when the advertiser finds out about it
