People wouldn't do it if it wouldn't be worth it. You need to develop thick skin and strong nerves if you want to stick around in this industry.

Have you tried FB yet though? I'm a complete noob and decided to try FB as my first traffic source. Since then I moved to mobile too, but I have yet to get banned after a month or so. I've just done a lot of reading, decided to do whitehat only (none of that bs cloaking since I plan on doing marketing long term, and a relationship with facebook is worth 10x more than the extra profit I'd make running non compliant stuff)

If your targeting is proper and your ads don't try to sell too aggressively, your CTRs and hence your QS will be decent. I run ads, post boosts and page likes pretty much sequentially. So sometimes I go for the sale, other times I play nice and provide value. I'm treating it like a mailing list funnel where I try not to hard sell in every email.

Mind you, I'm still stressed every day about getting banned because of everything I've heard so far and because my QS aren't high either, but I guess we'll see. I'm hoping because I have a business manager account and any flagging/banning would be done either due to a missed redirect (I should be fine here, I have a few catches in place), or accumulating too much negative feedback, that I'd be given a few free passes.

Depends on what you are doing.

Facebook sells $5 billion worth of ads every quarter. If these were not backing out, then people would stop buying ads on FB.

That is not happening anytime soon.

I personally know at least 5 people on STM who run really large volumes ($x,xxx, xxx per month) on FB on usually a single business account. They obviously aren't in the shady verticals or doing shady ads.

These aren't stupid people so it is presumably backing out for them.

Agreed,

It all depends what you are running and how you are running. I know this seems silly but i found that having a business account may help vs just using your personal account. Also if you do something they don't like and you were unaware then when you create a new account use a different credit card. I have heard of people who have got another account but then FB finds out its the same person and then for no reason they close it down. I see lots of people who run multiple verticals on FB who can bring in $x,xxx a day so i think with the right tools and research FB can be a very profitable platform to use.
