Build quality, direct relationships with product owners + your affiliates. It's hard when you're starting out and you'll need to float a lot of capital if you want any chance at success. You'll need to be incredibly wary of fraud from both the affiliate/product owner side.

Is your network pushing offers from other networks, or do you have any direct relationships?

Id start out with at least a couple hundred k to cover float, lots of internal traffic, solid relationships with existing affiliates in your space, exclusive offers, money to cover conferences/marketing for a year, and/or a mix of the above.

May I ask why started an affiliate network in the first place? What is your experience?

no offense but "cool, ANOTHER aff network."

is this really that in demand? What are you going to bring to the table that's different?

Are you thinking like a marketer... or like someone who has a need that's unfulfilled -- (because that's how you should be thinking).

We only have so much time before we die.

Starting an affiliate network is way more difficult than it seems. Lots of time/money investments in building a good sales staff and propietary technology. Short and middle long term you can definitely make a lot more money by focusing on running affiliate campaigns.
