and another great commercial that narrow the borders from online - offline marketing

Hi Stackers

just saw this great commercial from Supercell - Clash of Clans featuring the amazing Christoph Waltz.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqDrvC3E9kw

knowing where a commercial like this is going live in sense of Geo's will give you a really nice boost for CTR% and CR%.

we can see that the borders of online and offline marketing are getting smaller and smaller every day,

utilize this in your campaign to get the momentum rolling.

currently from what i am experiencing this is mainly in the games / travel niche, (trivago and hotel combined use a lot of TV commercial to boost engagement)

but the industry is moving that direction very fast where new calcualtion methods of pricing are starting to show up - one unit price for TV and internet.

there was a big study in Israel that shows that internet didn't actually "break" the prime time of TV but actually doubled it,
how is it possible???
the study shows that most users are engaging their content on their PC / Mobile from 16:00 - 20:00 when the prime time of TV is 20:00 (news)
they also noticed that its actually the same "user" that is engaging with the same content (news / VOD) both on TV and on the internet so why should they have different prices for promotions.

its all still in diapers but there is a huge and powerful forces that are working to get this method live as soon as possible so the day inst far away.

in conclusion look for the commercials that looks good and ride the waves of Momentum

other great commercials:
Wix - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jIA3eFtSOM
Taichi Panda - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfu-JajvuwQ
Mobile Strike - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGlYpkQfk_0
Clash of Clans - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC2qk2X3fKA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0eV..._XhMjoJyyucvFg

and there are many more

feel free to add your thoughts on this

TV is a very profitable channel for companies that sell online. If you look at it from a direct sales perspective (e.g. mentioning a shortlink in the tv ad), you'll make a huge loss as this only brings back 25% of the investment. The real money is made on the uptake a tv ad causes in Search (especially brand name searches which are dirt cheap CPCs), Social and the increase in CTR and CR in both the email and display channels, especially the day off and days after the tv ad has aired.

Only really sophisticated companies with very strong tracking capabilities can really analyze the impact of TV on their online operations. If you cant do this, better stick to just online which is easy to measure. When it goes cross-channel and especially offline to online it becomes a lot more complex and you need a lot of historic data to measure the uptakes.

It requires a huge money, time and employee investment to set this up correctly and this is also the exact reason why big companies don't allow their affiliates to bid on their brand names or do any search activity at all. They spend millions on building a big brand name, so that it eventually comes back via search, social (pull) for free, and eventually leads to loyal customers (100% ROI on retention clients) and leads to increases CTRs and CRs in all other paying channels.

TV ads are insanely profitable in the long run if you factor in the effect it has on ALL the marketing channels the company works on/with. TV and online media complement each other, they don't destroy each other. That's why we don't see a decrease in the amount of $$$ yearly spend on tv advertising.

New Fresh from the Oven:

Plarium Adds Actress Megan Fox to Stormfall: Rise of Balur

Mobile and social game developer Plarium partnered with actress Megan Fox to bring Fox’s likeness and persona to Stormfall: Rise of Balur on mobile. The kingdom-building game allows players to collect resources to grow their kingdom, as well as to build an army that can attack bases on the world map.

Fox’s likeness will be used for the game’s new main character: Amelia Delthanis, Captain of the High Council Guard. Delthanis will help new players through the game’s tutorial.

Plarium said the introduction of this new character is the first in a series of updates that will be released in the game over the coming months. Additional updates will include a new tutorial and a single-player campaign that will reveal more about Delthanis’ role in the in-game world.

In a statement, Fox commented on the role:
"I’m really excited to play the role of Amelia in Stormfall. Not only do I get a chance to lead players through the beginning of the game, but it’s fun to play a very empowered, strong female character."

Stormfall: Rise of Balur is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The game has more than 7.5 million registered users across platforms. Plarium said 1.8 million raids take place in the game each day, and its users spend 5.5 million hours in the game each month.
