Hey guys!
I've been thinking about building some assets besides affiliate marketing. One thing I've been wanting to explore is creating and building a news style website or blog around a targeted niche. Kind of like Destructoid but probably for something other than gaming.
Another idea would be to create a Buzzfeed similar website locally. And then expand it gradually to the region, then the world.
I would get traffic via classic social media, mainly Facebook. All articles, design, programming... would be outsourced. Getting and monetizing a few thousand views per day would still be a great and steady passive income.
Has anyone ever done this? Let me know what you think. If I decide to do it, I'll start it as a journey here on STM.
Peace
There was a follow along about it no so long ago, you should check it out.
it's possible to do it but not as easy as it was I believe.
A follow along would be great, I'll subscribe and help if you choose to do it.
Good luck
Besides, assuming you get a lot of traffic, you'd be able to get sort of free media buys on your site. No review teams, no bs. Now think about having a 100 of those sites. You got yourself a tiny traffic network right there with no limits
Are there any challenges / obstacles for this?
- Check out article about future of native ad
- Adsense getting banned due to many duppliate content?
- Getting traffic from social media like Facebook. could they ban your account?
Im still researching the feasibility.
people have been successfully doing this already: http://qz.com/258337/five-reasons-wh...so-successful/
they started out with 3 guys rewriting articles found on other sites. They got 1.5M USD funding recently, valuing them around 6M.
