Made my first $31 yesterday using ClickBank and Bing Ads.
But then... Bing deleted all my ads for no good reason. I think they didn't like the offer which, in the big picture of things, will erode Big Pharma's drug profits. The ads themselves and the content are all compliant as far as I can tell. I suspect they're just being jerks, so I will be moving my business to Google Adwords. I'm a 1-month+ newbie but I've discovered that PPC Search is definitely my style.
Now on a slightly different topic. If only... they didn't have the policy of banning drug names in ads.....
... the whole idea behind banning drug names is to prevent the sale of these drugs on "online pharmacies". But I'm suffixing "side effects" to some of these drug names because that will lead traffic to my offer. In theory this is a different purpose than trying to sell these drugs. Does anybody have a workaround to this ? Or maybe even talk to Bing/Google and explain to them why this should be allowed ? Anyone have any experience with this ?
I'm still fuming mad at Bing for deleting my ads. At first they went into "approved limited" status but then there was some manual monkeying around that I detected. Even my ad for a non-health offer got deleted. The stated reason at first was because the URL was unreachable (not true). Then mysterious monkeying even after I tweaked my ads and changed up the countries. Then total disappearance. Simply unacceptable.
Haha the first $ is always the toughest! And yes you will find on search compliancy is tough, but the traffic is generally very high quality.
A few thoughts...
1. Don't get mad when things don't go your way. You're going to encounter a lot of challenges and barriers on your way to becoming an affiliate millionaire
. So just brush those off and learn how to adapt.
2. Find out the real reason why Bing deleted your ads. You need to learn from every event that happens. Read the guidelines again. Was it because the bing reviewal team checked your offer from a different IP and your offer redirected to a blank page? Google's compliancy will be the same as Bing's if not tougher!
Thanks Mr. Green ! Appreciate the encouragement. It was a roller-coaster for me yesterday. But I've tasted the success now so there's no going back. Thank you so much for your words.
I just checked 5 minutes ago and my ads are back, although one set of them is now "exception under review". Thanks for the tip, I will find out what their specific reason is.
It's been a whole month of experimenting using different things... Go2mobi, Popads, tons of different affiliate networks (all crappy except ClickBank), different banners and copy, and finally I found what works for me ... PPC Search. Now to just get past these obstacles...
If the "display url" and the "destination URL" don't match, that's another reason they'll take it down.
Thank you, kind sirs. Yes I'm determined to succeed. Since I last wrote, I've learned some more things. Will be checking out a new traffic source tomorrow.
According to 2 bing reps. Display and destination need to match, not a 100% but close to it.
For ex: it is ok to have nutraskin.com for display and the destination goes to nutraskin.com/nutraskinoffers4u but cant have yourlandingpage.com/nutra as display
As Mr Green said,
I would worry about why it was taken down so that you can prevent it from happening in the future. I would also suggest creating a website or some sort of squeeze/landing page so that your banners can be placed there and google/bing will be less strict.
SUCCESS IS SUCCESS! keep at it
only gets better from here.
