What is traffic really? How do you run a pure traffic play and why would you want to?

The first question seems too obvious to ask I know but after applying and talking to affiliate network MobiFreak I became confused.

Following The Mobile Cookbook: The Appetiser by caurmen setup I understood that Go2Mobi and an ad exchange like Smaato were used to place your creative and that the ad exchanges then place your banners with your affiliate links as per your campaign setup. No problem there. I get that.

With the affiliate network MobiFreak, however, apparently the affiliate provides no banners, no offers, no placements just pure traffic. As the affiliate you just send traffic to your MobiFreak link and {....something happens.....} and hopefully you make profit. MobiFreak optimise the "traffic" with their own offers, banners etc. Is there a Thread that explains this type of pure traffic play? I didn't really get it.

How can you just "send clicks 10,000" to a network with no idea about what offer you are sending it to.

To me this sounds like some sort of traffic arbitrage or "traffic derivatives" trading and not really suitable for a newbie like me?

How would you setup to use ZeroPark to drive traffic to MobiFreak?

Is anyone doing this who could share their experience?

this sounds like Mobile Crooks Book instead of Cookbook. You send traffic without tracking like Voluum? And expect to make money? Oh boy you sure got long way to go. Yes, there is such thing as "pure traffic arbitrage". It is the traffic "coming to you at low cpm and you sell that traffic to a media buyer at higher cpm and profit the difference" by using tracker like Voluum. There is also a such thing as "traffic derivatives". It is a real software script code that was developed [i can't tell you whom but i have it and not for sale] and it scrapes the existing traffic that you are buying and then the code "acquires" extra traffic and thus "derived" extra traffic for FREE at no cost and thus you'r over all cpm is even lower when traffic is purchased.
