Hey guys,
Imorian here so i got a little problem i got a low budget lets say 3000$ and i dont know where to start i have some affiliate marketing experience over the past year i ran pof quite alot but its not the same anymore did adult but also stopped that cause the margins where to low but i was still profitable so i need your help what would you guys suggest to start on a low budget now ?
Milk your profitable camps as much as you can.
I would take sides with thuglife here, since you had something profitable in adult, why not try to milk it for what its worth and maybe focus on improving the ROI? Its true margins in adult are very low these days but the scale is still there, so it can work out just fine.
Yeah thanks matuloo and thuglife but there is nothing i have right now anymore that is profitable also some of my offer the quality dropped for some reason on the same spots i got a paybump before and now iam left with profit but no offers cause i tried similar offers but i didnt got them profitable anymore and my cashflow is also not that high so i need some what is quite okay to get into what not gonna cost me a fortune
There's never any guarantee that any one campaign will work out, but the more you test the more likely it will be to hit on profits.
And with a limited budget, the best way to test more things is to stick to less-competitive geos and offers with low payouts.
For more details on why low payouts are better - please search for the string "Won't higher-payout offers make me more money than lower-payout offers? Should I avoid low-payout offers?" in this thread:
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-AM-FAQ-Thread!
Basically by sticking to low payout offers, you can collect more data and optimize your camps more quickly and at lower cost. And low payout doesn't mean they're unnecessarily less profitable than high payout offers!
Less-competitive geos = countries in africa, asia, latin america
Types of low-payout offers: Lots. e.g. Pin submits and app installs.
Unless you already have experience with FB, I would suggest to avoid that for now because learning curve is steep and there are tons of targeting options. Native advertising (Revcontent, Taboola etc.) will also require bigger test budgets to get a campaign working. Your budget wouldn't last too long on these sources.
Some good fits for your budget would be either Mobile Display or Pop. Pop is easier in a way because you're not having to test banners - just offers and landers, but be aware that pop has become quite competitive in recent months. So there are pros and cons and you choose your battle.
But sticking to less-competitive geos will help with the competition.
Hope that helps and best of luck!
Amy
3000$ is not a low starting budget. With the right testing strategy, you can definitely make it work.
Focus on a few verticals and test as many traffic sources as you can. Of course before doing anything I would read & spy as much as you can via STM, your network AM, friends in the business, etc. Its all a matter about testing, measuring valuable results and optimizing your campaigns.
If you're still looking for a network to work with don't hesitate to sign up as publisher on www.addiliate.com to get full access to our +850 global campaigns.
I thought I was going to hit it big with spending $1k on pops. Turns out I am now at about 4k spend (3k in ads) and just finally getting a feel for things. My mistake was targeting tier 1 geos (AU/BE) for my first geos.
If you listen to some of the advice given you might not end up in my situation and can probably get away with 3k. Keep in mind I have made back about $1600 but I won't even see part of that until the 15th of this month, and then the next part I won't see until another month after that. Oh and of course there's also about 100-200 I won't see for a VERY long time because min payout for those networks is $500.
AU & BE are good geo's for pops. What was the campaign you were running?
Verticals that work well on pops:
- Big brand names (E.g. booking.com, vistaprint, ebay, etc)
- Desktop download campaigns - really easy converting offers. User just needs to install a software. One max two clicks.
- Gambling and especially sports betting, preferably on CPL but also CPA will work (small user deposit)
- Video on demand
- Adult offers (on adult sites only of course - not on any other sites; they wont accept it either)
Singapore uae new zealand australia south africa are all small undersaturated countries that have solid conversion rates too
AU & NZ is good for.
You can target any English Ads , just copy from US geo and run it .
We are currently seeing great results in Brazil, Mexico, Russia and France with pops. Its cheaper and easier to make it work and turn out a profit in non-saturated markets. Avoid US/UK unless you really have an exclusive offer with a great payout.
thanks amy for the tip will definetly look into that
Hey Imorian!
How are you?
Concerning your budget: 3000$ is far from being low, but it always depends on both the segment’s payout and conversion rate. Regarding the segments to be chosen: bear in mind that there are many countries that haven’t yet been explored; countries in which the competition is not as strong as in tougher markets and in which both the volume of traffic and conversion rate are very attractive.
As for the vertical, if you know where to invest, adult can be as profitable as mainstream. From an array of many traffic sources that may suit your needs, we find Exoclick to be one of the most complete Adnetworks for adult traffic. Indeed, Exoclick has many features and detailed information that allow you to optimize your campaigns. Moreover, it provides you many targeting options (by carrier, device, OS, website, etc).
Some tips regarding Exoclick: when selecting your pricing, ALWAYS use Smart CPM. You should start with capping of 1, and don’t insert the minimum bid. You shouldn’t put the minimum bid because, if you do, you’ll optimize campaigns that have low traffic quality which means that your performance for the different parameters (device, OS, websites, etc.) will always be relatively bad and unreliable.
