Tax Offer(s) Via PPV

Hi All,

I have been promoting a US Tax filing service for the past few months using 3 PPV traffic sources:
Lead Impact
50onRed
ZeroPark

Ive tried various landing pages and also direct linking. Direct linking is the
best converter by quite a way so I've now stopped sending traffic to the
landing pages first.

So far Ive been running this at negative ROI: The offers are paying about $4 per lead.
My average traffic costs for tax related domains and Keywords and conversion rate have been approximately:

Lead Impact 0.017cpv with a conversion rate (Cv) of 0.21%
50onRed 0.03cpv with a conversion rate (Cv) of 0.23%
Zeropark 0.024cpv with a conversion rate (Cv) of 0.21%

So all 3 sources are pretty consistent.
I have stayed with promoting this offer as I was told by my AM that the conversion rate
would increase as we approach Tax deadline date (April 18th). So far it hasn't despite me
optimizing to remove bad placements, keywords, targets etc.

So, now I am not sure what to do. I need to recoup some or all of the money lost on this so far.
I read the recent guide about PPV do's and don'ts that advises to not be scared to bid higher
by having duplicate campaigns with different bids etc but I am worried that this will just lose
me more money.
I was thinking to try some RON marketing on these networks to try and get some cheaper traffic,
is this advisable?

If anyone has any knowledge of this niche and traffic source (or just any PPV tips in general) and
could give me some pointers with how to turn this campaign around then that would be
most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I know that Tax is a dirty word for all of us, but please guys. I would appreciate some advice on the above.

Thank you,

Mark

What is the tax offer you are running? Can you show the landing page?
Its hard to give specific feedback on a campaign and its performance without seeing the URL, knowing the conversion point.

For PPV its just a matter of testing and optimizing keywords. Do check with your advertiser if you're allowed to bid on their brand name, that will usually yield very profitable results
