Exactly what DATA hide Voluum's Double Meta Refresh?

Hello, Voluum includes a redirection mode called "Double Meta Refresh" (a.k.a. DMR) but I would like to know what DATA ar hiden when I use this option?



I'm using pops from 50onRed, Popcash, PopAds & PropellerAds. Also for track conversions in Voluum I use Voluum's postback link but only with the Offers Network (never Traffic Network) so what I need is to hide the keywords I'm using for each campaign (keywords to have traffic) so I can avoid that others steal my winner keywords (ones that converts).

DMR can help me with this? or how to hide this "valuable" information? I don't want that Offer Network neither Traffic Network can know exactly the keywords that works in my campaigns generating conversions.

Any idea would be very helpfully for me! Thanks!

Hello,

DMR attempts to hide the referal data, so basically the url that the click came from. It doesnt work 100% thou, keep this in mind. People use DMR exactly to make it impossible for the aff networks to see where the click came from. Its not just because they dont want them to steal their campaigns but also to hide uncompliant landing pages etc ...

Traffic network will not know what converted for you, unless you also reffer the conversions to them via a postback, so you are doing it right.

Voluum will not pass the keyword data further to the affiliate network, you could do it with the use of custom tokens if Im not wrong, but thats not a default Voluum setting so dont worry about it too much.

I would say you can sleep well if you use DMR, something might get through but not enough to reveal the complete campaign settings.

Hey Matuloo, thank you very much for your answer and your opinions, I have a clearer view of DMR, thanks!

But now I think maybe I forgot a very important detail, this happened to me with a Direct-Linking campaign, I didn't use my own pre-lander so when you said this:

I think this happens only whe I use a lander with Voluum? because if some data (keywords) pass it will keep only in my pre-lander domain, but if I make a direct-linking campaing, Voluum pass data like keywords to the Affiliate Network because I'm using their own domain tracker also: 1st my custom Voluum domain redirects to the Affiliate Network tracker domain and then redirects finally to the Offer domain.

And I think this because when a visit goes to my direct-linking offer he obtain a link similar to this:

In the above link example my keyword is "Weight Loss" (var1..Weight Loss) so I think both, Affiliate Nework and Offer Owner, will get this "Voluum Data" because it passes directly to the Affiliate Network Tracker domain, but if instead of pass this Voluum Data directly to the Offer Owner Landing Page I decide to send the visit first to my own pre-lander I think this Voluum Data keeps only on my own prelander link? because in that case the unique information Affiliate Network and Offer Owner maybe will only have will be the "referer" information of my pre-lander domain? but as you explained if DMR is activated the "referer" will be also hiden so they can not have neither the referer information?


Finally, apart from the above question, if I make another Direct-Linking campaign but with DMR this Voluum Data will continue to be available in the link of the Offer Owner Landing Page? If yes, how to avoid this to continue making my Direct-Linking campaigns being quiet it's not giving away lot of information?

DMR should help you yes, its not gonna be 100% but it should be good enough.

Im not sure about this part : Voluum pass data like keywords to the Affiliate Network because I'm using their own domain tracker also - can you explain this more detailed to me? Or drop (PM) me the link that you submit to the traffic networks so I can verify it.
