Hi everyone,
I'm in internet marketing world for more than two years now. In 2014 with two of my friends I set up a company. Now I have 12 employees (doing some other stuff for me, but as soon as I figure out how, I'll use them to help me with my campaigns), office space and $xx,xxx per month (In Serbia where I live it's more than enough for classy lifestyle). My budget for learning/testing is $1000 monthly but if opportunity arises I'm prepared to invest more. My goal right now is positive ROI, because IMO once I achieve that I will have more experience and knowledge to optimize and start making some greens
Past experience:
I've started two campaigns on Bing ads, one was peerfly weight loss offer with really high payout (Guess I was pretty optimistic when I tried to run that as a newbie) and another one was a CB product on one of the fastest growing markets in US but I killed that too because I had zero conversion after $200 spend (I guess high payout, lack of tracking knowledge, and small number of products were the main reason). In total I spend around $400, earn nothing, but I think I learn something so I'm not that sorry about that money.
Resources:

)
- office space
- 12 employees (don't know how to use them to help me with my campaigns, because they already do 4h/a day job for me. I'm open to any suggestion)
- 6h - 9h per day available for AM. I need to attend classes at my college (I study Marketing BTW), study 1-2 hour a day, train few hours a day, and manage my office (I plan to hire an assistant on this, so I'll have extra hour available)
New campaign
Few days ago I started a new campaign with Maxbounty offer. I didn't do much of a research (mistake) and didn't set up my tracking properly so most of my data is unusable. I'll show you stats for first two days of my campaign:
Traffic Source: BingAds
Network: MaxBounty
Offer: Vindale research e-mail submit (I found that I can convert e-mail submit better than DOI offers. I've tested Vindale and Harris poll and Vindale was the winer)
GEO: USA & CA (I found that USA has much bigger volume than CA, which is not surprise and converts better too, so for my next step I'll cut of Canada. If I made a mistake please correct me
)
Payout: $1.30 for USA and $0.8 for Canada
Cost: $40
Revenue: $4.7 (3*1.3 + 0.8)
ROI: -88%
Price per conversion: $10
Main problem (at least I think it's main problem): bad CTR (bellow 0.7%) = expensive CPC
Good thing: Got my first conversion ever
I've had 4 variations of one LP and done a Split test. I've tested 4 variables, but as I've mentioned I didn't set up my tracking properly so I can't decide on winer. I also created 3 campaign (low, mid and high bid) and only high bid campaign got some clicks (but CPC was 0.9 which is too high) and used exact and phrase match type.
Fresh beginning
In order to get well prepared for this campaign I did the following:
1. Created new ad group with only broad match type. Hopefully after day or two I can use search term report to help me build my negative KW list and use Broad match modifier and get better CTR.
1a. Created one more ad group to test method described here (http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...bank-cpa-offer)
2. Using Bing Ads Insight I did a little research to find demographic info about my market, and got an insight on their needs (not sure if Bing Ads Insight is accurate enough) I used those info to come up with more angles
3. I did a research on people opinion on Vindale research and survey companies in general. I'll use those info to emphasize pros in my LPs and Ads, and to hide out cons.
4. I've done a research on Bing and Yahoo users regarding my niche and find out following: 40% are aged 35-54; 32% aged 55+; and 26% aged 18 - 34. My question here would be: Should I create ad group separately for each age group, or go broad?
Also, 87% of users use Internet Explorer so I optimized my LP for that browser. Later on I'll collect data on browsers potential customers use and will optimize LP for those browsers as well.
5. I've made several ads to test
6. I've set up a tracking on Prosper 202 (I hope this time I did it right)
It took me 6 hours to do this, but I split it 3 hours per day so I think I should work on my productivity. I've started a campaign now and so far (running one hour maybe) no clicks (I think it's still waiting for approval)
Future plans:
- run a campaign on iPhone 6s - One Field (sweep) and one more CB product with low payout (I get one conversion after few hours totally blind. It has cheap clicks so I think it's worth of trying)
- try out mobile
Two more questions:
- should I create separate ad group for every angle, or group angles by some similarity and create fewer ad groups?
- Should I have same LP for every ad group, or to adjust LP to an angle?
- Could you recommend me some good spy tool for search traffic?
Disclaimer: English is not my native language (I'm from Belgrade, Serbia) so sorry for possible mistakes
I'm open to any sort of critics and suggestions (that's the reason I post this follow along) and would be glad to answer every question.

Hello,
I've been busy yesterday so I didn't post any result, which are not great BTW
Day 1:
Cost: $4.76
Revenue: $0
ROI: -100%
Day 2:
Cost: $2.42
Revenue: $0
ROI: -100%
What I think the main problem is: Too low CTR! It results in bad QS, which results in higher CPC, and lower position. What might cause this CTR beside obviously bad ad copies might be lack of negative KWs. I'm using broad match type so in order to get bigger CTR (smaller CPC, better position, more clicks, more data) I'll do the following:
1. Using search term report I'll see which keywords trigered my ads so I could negative those that have nothing in common with my offer.
2. Create separate ad groups for respective demographic group, find more KWs for each group, and try to write better ad copies for each group.
Right now I'm not sure should I create separate LP for each group or not, but I think I'll keep same LP for every group until I get CTR at least above 1%.
Quick suggestion - Offer payout is way too low to ever make work with PPC. Look for $10+
Hi @dazed1
Thanks for your suggestion. I'll follow your advice. Wish I knew that before I build ad groups and all that keyword researching, but better late then never
I'll just let my ads running one day to see did I manage to improve my CTR, but will definitely stop that campaign. I've already asked my AMs for some recommendation and what I'm gonna do is chose an next offer.
Once I make it, I'll post a plan for my new campaign.
Thanks once again!
Hi everyone,
had pretty busy last few days. My Paypal account with $12000 got suspended for 6 months, I've tried to unblock it but had no success. Also I was searching for my new $10+ offer, and after I found it did a brainstorming session and made a plan for my new campaign. This is what I already did:
1. Found and offer (I'll let you know what offer I promote once I start campaign)
2. Get a great idea how will I promote this
3. Buy domains I'm gonna use
4. Did a market research about this. I've found great study about this niche, which will help me to segment my market, and create different ad groups for differetn market segments
This is what I need to do today:
5. Found KWs
6. Create LPs
7. Write some ads
I have a good feeling about this, and hopefully this can get me positive ROI.
Hi,
This took lot time to finish, but finally I've setup my campaign. So here it is:
Traffic Source: BingAds
Network: Addiliate
Offer: Ladbrokes Premier League and Generic Sports (min 5 pound deposit in order to convert)
GEO: UK
Payout: $50
So far I'm experiencing very low CTR (should write better ads), and very low impressions (should research and ad more KWs).
I've found a research on average gambling person in UK and found types of gambling persons. Right now I'm trying to target only one type of gambler (those who spend lot time and lot money gambling) in UK to see will I have any more idea/criteria for segmentation and to see what volume will I get (If I get too little volume, there is no point to further my segmentation IMO).
I've created separate ad groups and ads for football (soccer) and other sports.
Right now my main goal is to gather some more data, and try to get more volume and improve my CTR. When I have good volume I can decide does my LP converts and should I make some changes on LP too. If I'm wrong please correct me
I think you should only focus on US. And Spy Bing And see what's working. Don't reinvent the wheel. It can take you 1,000 Tries.
Find What's working and make it better.
Could you or anyone recommend me some good spying tool I could use with Bing ads? I tried with What runs where, but didn't find pretty much anything.
Manual Spy For Bing. You won't find anything with spytools
For Search use Bing.com
