As per the title, I'd like to know what you guys think would be a good frequency cap when it comes to mobile pop traffic? Thanks!

Heyo,
1/24hours is the go to for most people I know. You can then work on increasing to see if volume gets higher and profits also improve. It's a matter of testing but 1/24hours is a good starting point before trying out more freq caps.
Cheers.

Yeah 1/24 is what I'm doing atm, just thought of asking around before doing some split tests.

In my experience, not all verticals respond the same to cap settings, my cap settings sometimes go as low as 1/1 or no cap at all, while in some cases I have to use the most popular 1/24. It also depends on the traffic source and particular publishers. Site owners usually can decide how often they want to show the pop to the same user, so if a site owner sets this to 1/24 you have no chance to increase the interval. One thing usually is the same across all networks, 1/24 cap gives better CTR/CVR than 1/1 or no cap.

1/24 with one camp is a good starting point.
If that works, starting a second or third camp with lower bid is often more profitable and works better than a dully increase of cap.
With frequency cap you pay the same for the first, second, and hundred impression.
With several camps you can adjust the bid per impression according to the value of it.
And make no mistake about it, the second impression has an lower value.
Some say there are smart marketers out there who even dare to show a different lander / offer combo on the second impression.

Gold nugget after gold nugget! Sebastian you're on fire lately - can't thank you enough for all the valuable tips you've been dropping around the forums!
Unless there's a good reason to do otherwise, I always start off with 1/24 frequency. I've seen enough evidence to suggest that the higher the frequency, the lower the conversion rate. So if I can't get a camp profitable on 1/24, there would be no point in opening up the frequency any further.
However, if I DO get a camp profitable on 1/24, I would start experimenting with higher frequencies. The CR would drop, but the overall profits may still go up due to the additional traffic, which is the goal (i.e. to maximize profits).
