MySQL configuration (5)

MySQL configuration

I currently run tracking on VPS with 2GB of RAM. I do not have a lot of daily volume. 1000 clicks, 60-80 conversions.

I am having issues because entire MySQL database is getting loaded into RAM.

Do you know what are the optimal settings or most common setting for My SQL in order to have it run properly.

Your database with 1000 clicks/day should be TINY... what exactly are the specific issues you're having?

It's possibly easier for you to hire somebody off Upwork to sort it out for you. If you don't know your way around a server, self-hosted tracking going rogue is not ideal.

I have been using this tracker (PofPro) for about 18 months. It has been fine but i have been having major issues with my stats not updating properly in the last 10 days.
The latest possible cause appears to be database size vs RAM size which are both 2GB.

I checked several times today and it appears that TODAY the database grew by about 6-7MB which for 900 or so clicks sounds way too much.

Get in touch with POFpro support. They should be able to help you sort it out.

Also, there are some custom scripts you can use to optimise your MySQL installation (and I'd usually recommend moving to MariaDB over MySQL anyway). But that's definitely a Step 2. Step 1 is "ask support for your tool WTF is going on".

The POFpro support guys are usually very helpful and will probably be able to give you good, specific suggestions.

Hi Caurmen,

I have a ticket open with PofPro support and their only suggestion is to get a server with 4GB or RAM or try deleting some old campaigns to lessen the size of the database.

At the same time they are telling me that they have clients with databases in 100s of GB but i highly doubt their RAM is also 100s of GB.

I have a ticket open with Beyond Hosting for the same issue and so far their only suggestion was to upgrade to 4GB VPS as well which will only buy me time but not solve the issue.

BTW, is there a way to change the subject of this thread to POFPro MySQL configuration?
