Im currently with Beyond Hosting but i checked today and they are pretty expensive compared to others.
Which MANAGED hosting are you using preferably in US?
Also, anyone using Beyond Hosting Content Delivery Network (CDN)?
VPS.net and the Rackspace cloud of out of convenience.
Do you need managed hosting? If so Beyond are pretty competitive price-wise.
If you're comfortable with Linux system administration, then there are lots of good providers out there for unmanaged VPSes. I mostly use Digital Ocean these days although I hear good things about Vultr.
And don't forget, if you're not self-hosting your tracker then the S3 + CDN route is both cheaper and vastly less admin hassle than running a VPS. (And I say this as someone who likes running his own VPSes.)
I need managed. Can something like Prosper or PofPro be used on S3 or another cloud solution?
@ericnyc - Not on S3, no. You could run them on an EC2 instance - but that's just an unmanaged VPS so won't work for you - or theoretically on something like Elastic Beanstalk, but I've got no idea what the performance would be like.
In your situation I'd recommend either Beyond or A.N.Other unmanaged host plus a sysadmin hired off Upwork.
Thank you, Caurmen.
Im with Beyond hosting right now. Its ok if things are running but if issues happen their support is hit or miss. Depends who gets to work on the ticket.
What is AN?
@ericnyc - A.N. Other - in other words, any other host
Vultr, Linode, Rackspace, whoever.
