how do i monetize my Facebook Page?

Ok so i started this fb page for my dogs litter so i could market the pups easier. Any way in the 2-3 yrs it has grown all over the world. It kind of took on its own life. Any way it reached the 5k limit of friends. I get atleast 100+new requests a day. I get some 300 plus emails a day. Im not that familiar with interacting with fb. So what i decided to do was build a web page. It is pretty decent and has a lot of content. I also have forum on it where i will personally be sharing advice on breeding, training, etc... All of my pages are geared towards placing offers within the content. My biggest question is how do i drive the traffic from my fb to my website? also how do i harvest their emails for future use? i set it up so far that if they want to join the forum then they have to give me their email. also do i change my fb to a fan page?? really dont understand fb's explanation of what a fan or like is??? If im not mistaken i can put a like button on my website and gain more popularity. Anyway i could use any of your input. this is new to me. thanks.

i have no experience with this either ha but ah u could just put a big heading/ image on your page promoting your new website? send a private message to all the group members notifying them all the opening of your site....and might take a day or so but a very large % of people have an email contact in their info page of their profile. I'm sure there a lot of better ways that people could would go about this but not having any experience thats a place to start. Also have an email capture pop on ur site promoting a monthly newletter/free ebook on raising pups etc.....heaps u can do!

I don't know about the free newsletter, I think this would be a good niche to sell a newsletter subscription for something like 6 to 9$ a month. Good & simple recurring revenue.

I would definitely make a fan page since you do not have to worry about the 5k limit for friends. You can have millions of fans. A fan is someone that clicks the like button on your fan page. Whenever you post on your fan page, anyone who has liked your page will see it on their wall.

If your web page is a blog, you can link your RSS feed to your fan page so whenever you make a post on your blog, it will also post on your fan page.

Putting a like button on your website is a great way to increase your fans.

cool thanks. Thats what i needed to know. also when i create a fan page off of my profile page. does it work the same when someone searches the keywords i have set for my profile page? see i have a very popular profile name that is why my requests are growing and are 100+ a day. only now i cant approve them because i have reached my friend limit. how can i still utilize the profile page or direct the friend requests??? thats why i am wondering what the best plan of attack is on this source as i know it will only continue to grow. any and all advice is welcome and appreciated.

I just found out you can do this .... http://www.insidefacebook.com/2011/0...usiness-pages/

That should solve your problem.

In terms of monetization...

I know quite a few people running large facebook pages who monetize just by posting links to email submit offers. They don't make much, a couple of hundred a day, but that is something I know has been working.

For your niche, I know there is a "pet photo contest" offer on clickbooth.

Yeah, what Mr. Green said. (You could also market the tonsss of Dog Training related Clickbank eBooks as well - might not convert amazingly, but the high payouts would make up for that).

I've got a number of FB fan pages which I drive traffic to and send them to an iFrame tab (Static HTML). I encourage them to like and then monetize them on the front-end with a CPA offer relevant to the niche and then after that you've effectively got a list you can cultivate and post email/zip submits to a few times a week... You can also drive them to external properties like a blog or a landing page where you can get them to sign up to your newsletter or whatever and then you can drip market to them with aweber or icontact etc as well.

Thanks everyone for the great feed back. When my site is done i will post a link so you can check it out and give me some feedback. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I do some FB fanpages.

1. CPA offers are good but if you link them directly to your wall and people complain you could get your page banned. I put the offers on a wordpress blog often using a poll about the subject with an email submit on the backend. This works way better and it keeps people from marking your post as spam.

2. Amazon- don't let the low commissions scare you away. Fanpages and amazon is a great combo imo. The great thing about this is that all you need is for someone to click your link and buy anything at all. So your getting the highest traffic site in the world Facebook to the most trusted e-retailer. Plus you can post links eveyday if you want and no one will complain.

3. Set up an email capture. I just offer a newsletter about whatever, dump off at an email submit if you want. Then you can mail a related white hat sequence from aweber and in the background unleash hell on their inbox with CPA offers on a relay service.

Hope this helps.

I'm noticing these types of Viral pages starting to gain traction again. Besides having your page banned, are there any other risks with creating these massive (100k+ Fans) fan pages/events?

What Mr. Green said. Most people just post relevant Zip/Email Submit offers and make a few hundred dollars a day with it. Not bad considering it takes 5 minutes ;-)
