Transparency with Network AM's?

Hey everyone,

So I've been reading the importance of "relationships" with your AM, and then I've also heard of AM's sharing your campaigns with other affiliates...

I'm not dealing with shady networks however I would like some input from experience on how to work with an AM & getting offers/landing pages approved.
To even be approved for some offers, you have to show them your lander.

1) Are we to be disclosing ALL of our landing pages / banners /etc including drastic updates that still follow the same theme? Or just getting the offer approved with one and then applying common sense to using additional landers on our own....
2) When we apply for an offer, there's usually a little box with a dropdown for which type of media you're using (banner/pop/search) and then additional details.. What are they usually looking for? I've just been submitting 320x50 Go2Mobi & PopCash.

As I've also heard advertisers can "shave leads" because it was an unapproved creative.
I kind of blew it with my first two AM's by being a complete noob so the one's I'm working with now are going alright.

Edit: I also did ask two, and the response was kind of like asking a cop if you can drugs.
&& I'm running in tier-2/3 countries. If it were USA I'd be sure I'm making sure everything is 100%.

TLDR; When getting approved for offers, how much of our work should we disclose? Bare Minimum or full warchest?

That's a common concern, and one I've struggled with in the past.

It IS true that some affiliate managers are distributing landing pages of their top affiliates to other affiliates. Some affiliate managers even run their own camps on the side (disclaimer: don't quote me and don't ask for names because I'm very discreet). So your concerns are valid for sure. On the other hand, there are offers that convert well that require lander approval. So what do you do?

I'll start by saying that I can't recommend a one-size-fits-all approach. I can only tell you what some people do and the risks associated with each approach, and list some options.

-Some affiliate networks are less strict than others - apply to more and talk to more affiliate managers and you'll see what I mean. (However, even within the same network, different AMs will sometimes give people different requirements - some will ask to see landers and others won't. It helps to talk to other affiliates, and ask to switch AMs if necessary.) If you're already running an offer that converts well but requires lander approval, find out which other networks also carry it, sign up to them and see if you can find one that doesn't require it.

-Each offer has different requirements. If you're concerned about exposing your landers, ask your AMs to recommend offers that don't require lander approval.

-There are offers where advertisers will approve landers themselves. In that case every affiliate network that has that offer will extend the same requirement. Some people will submit every lander for approval - which is the safe way. Other people will submit one lander, get that approved, then run different landers - if the advertiser finds out they will tell the aff network to ban the affiliate. Some people decide to take that risk anyway, and make as much money as possible before they get banned.

-Then there are offers where the advertiser will ask the affiliate network to pre-approve every lander, but won't actually approve landers themselves. In this case, your AM would be obligated to tell you that lander approval is required. WARNING - what follows are my personal experience only and may not apply to all affiliate networks or affiliate managers: Some affiliate networks / affiliate managers will turn a blind eye if you run landers without pre-approval, as long as the advertiser doesn't catch you. Again, every affiliate network and affiliate manager is different, so please don't hold me responsible if you run your own landers and get caught and lose your revenue.

AFAIK these are the options. I'd be interested in hearing what the more experienced people can suggest as well.

Hello,
When we ask about traffic types, we are looking for a more general answer. Not your
specific traffic generation details.

Hope this helps.
