Testing 12 landers. How can I tell that I have enough data to start cutting.
Hi guys,
I have been launching campaign after campaign for the last two weeks, testing different angles, banners & landers.
Vertical: Adult / Mobile
Payout: 1.50 USD
Traffic Type: 300x200 Banners
Network Ads: JuicyAds
Geo: Spain
I'm testing 4 angles, each angles has 4-7 banners, 30% ripped and 70% totally new from scratch.
The picture below is my landers stats from Voluum after running some traffic on different days.

My question is:
How can I tell that I have enough data where I can start eliminating the bad landers or angles? as all the results I got are very close to each other, I still can't tell which one to focus on.
Note: The first lander in the photo above was my fist campaign and my first try, 20% of the conversions were testing conversions. Thats why it has the most.
I would really appreciate any help or any recommendations. It will help me a lot.
Thank you

Hello,
first of all, I see more than 12 landers there on the Voluum screenshot, is it also something else?
Juicyads - this is one of the sources that is polluted with low quality placements that you will have to cut in order to be able to optimize anything. Load the stats and look for placements that send you traffic but there are no clicks through the landing page and cut those. NOTE : dont do this after 5 clicks from a placement of course. Juicyads very often does this : there will be 1-3 large sources that send you the bulk of the campaigns traffic, but its all bots, you need to find these and kill them. These bot placements sometimes produce LP clicks, but they dont convert to leads obviously, so if you see a placement like this, kill it too.
You are testing too many things at a time anyways, cut it down a bit. Looking at the stats, there are LPs that got 800 clicks and made 3-5 conversions and there are those that made 0-1 with the same amount of traffic. Focus on those with the more leads and pause the rest for now - the best would be to take lets say 5 with the highest EPV. Honestly, you dont have enough data to make statistically significant decisions now, because your campaigns are polluted with bot traffic, but in order to move further, you need to cut down the amount of things you are testing. Once you have the bot placements sorted out, you can retest the rest of the LPs.
Your priority now is to get rid of the bots and then test the other stuff. Store the IDs of the bad placements too, so you can use them for future campaigns.
Good luck

Hi Matuloo,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my question. Your answer is one of the main reasons I signed up for this great forum, getting live advice & experience during the campaigns is gold by it self.
All the other landers were testing, as this is the first time for me in media buying. I wanted to make sure my tracking system is setup properly.
I will follow your advice in focusing on the five best landers at this time.
Regarding your point where I need to block domains with bot traffic. Is there a way where I can see what domains send quality traffic that made the conversions? I suppose its through
Voluum, but I couldn't find such an option, and when I click on Referrer Domain in Voluum, I only get this domain adserver.juicyads.com.
I can find the domains through JuicyAds traffic sources, but I wont be able to tell which sites converts (quality Traffic) and which sites have bot traffic.
Thank you so much Matuloo.

You're welcome
I know exactly how important it is to get personal assistance when one is starting out
You need to configure your tracking properly, every traffic source uses "tokens" that pass information such as zone ID, domain name etc ...
Here is a screenshot from my Voluum setup for JuicyAds, you can copy it.

You will need to update your links in juicy ads once you are finished. Grab the links again from the campaigns setup, you should see the tokens added to the url - dont forget to specify correct traffic network for each campanign.
You might also want to read some Voluum tutorial, to make sure you understand tracking 100%.

Thank you again matuloo, you can't imagine how much you have helped me with your answers.
I followed all your recommendations, I chose to focus on the best 6 landers, I have added the tokens to my tracking system, I also resumed the traffic from JuicyAds to collect more data.
I have another question if you please. Have you had any major success with JuicyAds? Is it worth the time and money that I'm investing in ?
When I started, I said to my self, I will stick with one vertical & one traffic source till I master it or till I make money out of it. Is that right or wrong ? should I just keep trying with JuicyAds till I at least get my money back or make any profit ?
I would love to know your opinion on this.
Thank you again matuloo.

Slight side note, but if you're concerned about bot traffic, I'd strongly recommend doing some bot testing to eliminate junk placements.
It's cheap and simple to do and can really save you a lot of grief.

On the subject of JuicyAds, you may not have seen Finch's guide to running with them, so let me just paste that in here too...

Juicyads can be a weird source at times, on one hand, there is a ton of crappy placements, on the other hand, there are some literaly diamond quality placements

One of the guys who works for me and handles some campaigns on juicyads - he is kinda ROI obsessed - he spends like $70 a day there and the revenue is about $200-$230 per day. It took him some time to find those placements of course, but now he is getting mega ROI when it comes o adult

So yes, juicy is an option for new people, its possible to reach $XXX there, but prepare for a long optimization process. And as Caurmen mentioned, you will need to do some bot testing. Finches posts on hunting for specific spots on juicyads is also a very good one, its 3 years old, but the network didnt really change much.

Thank you caurmen for the great advice, I already started working on your recommendations.
And thanks again & again for you matuloo, thats exactly what I wanted to hear from you, I just wanted a good and trusted proof that can motivates me. I will stick my ass with JuicyAds till I crack it.
One of my biggest goals in this life is to reach your level and to have your knowledge to be able to teach and advice newbies, where to go and what to do next. I can imagine how great & amazing it feels when you can help someone to change his life, because what I'm working on now, can change lives for real.
Thanks again guys.

Did you by any chance find a way to block one placement account-wide? There really is a lot of shitty placements and I'd have to block them one by one for each campaign. Which is not an easy task given their website which always loads forever.

I'm not matuloo, but I may be able to give you some information based on my experience with JuicyAds.
You will need to block bad placements and low quality domains manually, one by one, it will take some time but I'm sure its worth it. I spent so much time with their live support to get as much information as I can. You need to check the public feedback score for each site, see what other advertisers are saying about their experience, check the website by your self, check the CTR and all those things so you can eliminate the bad ones. And I also recommend you to to setup your tracking system properly so you can tell which domains from Juciyads are converting your offer, this piece of information will help a lot.
And also make sure of the bots traffic as caurmen mentioned above.
I hope this will help you
