Most wanted: Stacker advice!
We need new ssl certificates for our domains and because with letsencrypt we have to issue them every three month which causes some trouble and downtime I want to try "normal" ssl certificates which we can buy via Namecheap. The question is whether one of their certificate providers is better than the other. I can't really find much information about it because for most the difference seems to be marginal. Providers are Comodo, RapidSSL, GeoTrust and Thawte. This is for mobile and in Geos where many people still use old phones/browsers.
Thanks for any tips

They're all the same functionally unless you go for "enhanced" certificates which verify your company details with the SSL provider and makes for a big green company company name and country code in the address bar.
I like sslmate.com these days when I'm not using letsencrypt. They're cheap and quick.
How many domains have you got? Comodo Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL is a good option if you have a large amount (with subdomain coverage) as you can protect them all under the same cert.
The only difference in certs is extended vs standard

Extended SSL shows the company name in the url bar and is only really needed if dealing with on stie transactions, you'll be fine with the lower price ones in your use-case.
Good read on Google's SSL switch-over in 2010:

And Facebook followed to SSL everything in 2013
