Hello everyone!
I ran into a bit of a problem with Exoclick
I'm in the business for about a year,and started working with them about the same time.Never had any issues until recently. I've started testing an offer a couple of months ago,pin submit, and after a couple of dollars spent,i got an email from them telling me that my account is suspended for 3 days,because the site contains 'phishing' ,the offer site/lander/url that is - thats the worst thing in their books they said. I had no ideea about that,but,i've been told it's my responsability to make sure that everything is clean and all that . It was the first time i had came across something like that,so didn't know where or what to look for. The funny part was, that i was pushing the same offer on other ts's and i didn't get flagged,but stopped them anyway just to make sure.
Today,again got an email from Exoclick saying that my account is suspended for 1 week now,for the same thing : phishing.Different offer,different geo. Again,the offer url/lander contains phishing. I'm sure it's not my domains/landers with problems.
So,I've done a check on scanurl.net,and one of the 3 check came out red(web of trust),it passed google and phishtank. Again,i had the offer running on other ts,so spoke with the am there to have it checked,he said it was ok with them
My questions are : did anyone came across this problem?
Do you guys check every url of every offer you want to test before setting your campaigns?
Is Exoclick's checking tool tweeked at max,or just for me as I'm allready flagged?
Any advice/tips are much appreciated.
Thank you
Had this problem several times with exo, google or some other self-appointed internet police is flagging an offer page and exo's malware tool goes nuts.
They scan constantly.
You could plugin all offers into https://www.trafficprotector.com/, they will notice you by sms or email when an offerpage gets flagged. But if you're not on your pc or sleeping, exo will go nuts before you can react.
Only found one lasting solution...letting the bot don't see the real offer page.
Thankx for the quick reply..Sorry to be such a noob, but how to hide from the boot?
Thank you
I think exo got more strict on this in the last few months. I got my account flagged twice too, the periods were shorter, apparently they have a ladder of seriousness in place and the duration can be between 48hours and a week. The bad news is, once you are flagged too often, you will most likely get banned. Its always a good idea to explain them its a fuckup on the offers side and not something fishy you are doing personally. I think they take it a bit lighter when you can prove it was an action of an aff network or the offer owner, since they understand there is only so much an affiliate can control
As for hiding the offer - this is called cloacking, read a bit about it if you want to find out more.
@matuloo
Wouldn't they also cut some slack to people with a good spending history?
Can't see them just banning someone with a million in spending history for instance.
I'm always paranoid concerning these things hehe.
@matulo Thank you for the cloaking advice,i'll surely do my reading
As for Exo,i found out it's useless trying to explain it's not really your lander thats flagged,it's the offer that you have no control on. They throw you "it's your responsability to check it",and that's about all the answers you get.Belive me,I've tried explaining that you just get/pick an offer and do what affiliates do,got the same cold answer.The bad thing is now,i have quite a bit of cash loaded up there,and,since it's my second flag,at the 3rd,you lose your account and the cash(they say banned accounts are not entitteled to a refund).So,i'm really stressed out on how to spend the balance.
@panicore
Not realy..I mean i didn't spend a million or close,but i spent a fair share..It just didn't look to make any diference
Anyways,i will make sure i check all the offer links before i'll load them up on Exo.. I guess that's what getting suspended does..
They told me a Google Play App was Malware. I asked for an explanation and they had none.
I have spent a lot of money with them. It's kind of a joke to be honest.
Not sure if they are easier with people with a lot of ad spend, probably yes a bit, but cant really confirm that. Their customer service department is pretty hard to get any answer from, thats true, but I still believe it makes sense to explain the situation.
I dont think they wouldnt refund a significant amount of money to banned accounts tho, that doesnt seem like someting they would do.
We use Exoclick a lot and we get suspended from time to time too.
So yes. Be more careful with your landers. Exoclick accounts are valuable because they are hard to get. So hold on and ride out the suspension. That was what we did when we accidentally used a lander with a entry pop among other infringements.
One trick you can try is keep emailing the support. Ask many many questions about compliance.
We still get suspended sometimes but at least now we have an Account Manager and can argue our case. Just a little. (We did get a suspension overturned this way.)
Yup, it seems they have got more paranoid and implemented that new tool that some other companies are using that flags the camps url/lander as "Phishing". Happened to me yesterday with 2 other networks also.
Soon, tracker redirection to lander will be considered "phishing".
