Stumped by Yahoo Gemini - Tracking Query

Hi everyone,

So - I just did my very first campaign - in Yahoo Gemini. I have Voluum tracking set up, and the offer was thru A4D.

The goal this time was really just to make sure I understand how it (i.e. tracking + setting up campaigns) all works.

I read & watched the tutorials from Caurmen, Xeno and tried to follow both http://iamattila.com/category/voluum-tutorial and http://charlesngo.com/voluum-campaign-setup/ - thanks to all these guys!

I think I did it just about right but there is something missing somewhere: following Charles Ngo's guide I tried to track the Age and Sex of the users. I input the following URL, from Voluum, as the destination URL in Yahoo Gemini:

http://nrlom.voluumtrk.com/b108563a-dc09-4c04-b6b8-0e4b4b75033c?age={age}&sex={sex}

Now - I just set the campaign up in Yahoo for all ages, all sexes.

I was thinking that Yahoo would then pass through (if available) the age and sex of the users, and this would then show all the different ages in Voluum.

However - although Voluum has successfully recorded all the info it tracks automatically, and it shows age and sex as V1 and V2 in the Offer Report (so I think I have set them up correctly in Voluum), it just shows 'Unknown' for the age and sex.

So it seems this info hasn't been sent through by Yahoo.

I have obviously made a mistake somewhere - my question is, is it:

a) in the destination URL I put into Yahoo, which should say something different?
b) in thinking that Yahoo can actually send this info thru to Voluum in the first place? (so the only way to analyse by e.g. sex is to have 2 different campaigns)
c) something else entirely?

If anyone can help on this that would be great - I think I'm nearly there with my basic understanding, but I don't want to move onto more campaigns until I am clear. Apologies if anything isn't clear - it's taken me a while to write it out so it's clear in my own head!

(P.S. I did email Yahoo support but have had no response as yet).

Thanks in advance!

Click here for a link to Yahoo's tracking macros. Keep in mind for native support the tracking macros are limited. {adid} is the only macro I ever use with Yahoo Gemini.

If you want to tag your links with age and sex, you will have to setup up ad groups based on your age and sex breakdown and tag your links manually.

Thanks for this harbor, much appreciated!

Tracking tokens for YG seems pointless. It's not like YG has any optimization levers.
