Popups or Popunders? (4)
Hi all,
Another basic question (hey i'm learning more every day!) 
Given that i'm focusing on Pops... and my initial traffic test was with 50OR i've assumed Popups were the way to go...
but now i'm testing popads.net traffic i've got the choice of popunders too.
So my question is whether there is a clear leader between popups and popunders?
Also... when do the popunders fire? If they fire on the initial parent page load, that means any count-down scripts could have run their course underneath the current parent page?
I realise a test is to simply give them a go but i'd love your opinions on each delivery method.

Honestly the answer is cliche, you will have to test. However as a general rule pop unders seem to perform better. The pop under fires just the same as popups, however it loads in a separate tab/window instead of right over the top of what the user is looking at. This means the user is less likely to close your ad straight away and allows it to load in the background. In some cases the user will see the pop up loading and close your landing page before anything has loaded therefore you pay for the pop up but no one see's your page. Also i know your just beginning but popads is brilliant to start with and if you can get something profitable great, however the fact is that it's where all the newbies go so it will be ultra-competitive, i would try something such as Adcash (just an example) where it's a little more premium since the deposit and daily spend is a little higher. But don't rush man

I must admit I bit the bullet and tested the popunders as I had the same thought about completing the loading process vs instant dismal.
The result of popups vs popunders..... both crap lol
Clearly I need to do more work/planning... I think the offer i'm promoting is not so good.
Back to square one I think , armed with my new knowledge 
Both pops and popunders will give you pretty poor performance as in - you will need hundreds or thousands of hits to your LPs to see a conversion. Banner clicks convert way better, but also the prices per hit are totally different, so thats something you have to keep in mind.
I have to vote for popunders vs popups too when it comes to what is generally working better. Popunders can sneak in unnoticed, especially on mobile, its absolutely normal to see conversions from mobile popunders days after the pop was actually loaded. People simply dont even notice them sometimes and only discover those ads after a few days
One way or another, popups or popunders are a great way to get into AM and get the basic understanding of how things work
