What's your guys take on offers where the advert tries to kick in extra field goals (i.e. related offers => their own affiliate links) before the thank you page where your pixel is fired?
Even if this campaign can be positive ROI, I personally think it's borderline theft (of your traffic) since that extra step (or two) can really kill the conversions.
It seems like a lot of these offers are basically run by other lead gen / affiliates / aggregators, trying to arb your hard earned traffic.
Anyway, what's your guys' take on this?
Depends on whether the advertiser takes these leaks into account when setting the payout.
For example, I've run plenty of offers with supplementary offers in exit/under pops, but I was getting share from those too so that's ok in my book.
Advertiser might also be willing to pay you more per lead because he knows that these upsells will make up for the initial cost.
Once way or another, the only thing that matters to me is whether the offer is profitable for ME as IT IS. The conditions are set, I either accept them or not. If the offers converts good enough for me and Im making good % even tho the advertiser pushes some additional upsells, then more power to him as he is obviously doing something right. Would you rather push an offer that is super transparent but converts poorly, or would you choose a high converting offer with some additional upsells that you are not credited for? To me the answer is clear, the later one is the winner.
The only time that I dont accept it is when an advertiser cries how they cannot pay more and biz is bad, when in reality they resell the leads 5 times and the only thing they care about is how to screw the affiliates more. Such advertisers should be ingored in the first place tho, and their offers will usually not be profitable too. Or when it is a revshare offer, where the advertiser isnt taking any risk as they are only giving me part of the charged amount, in that case I dont want them to push any upsells that Im not getting a share from.
